Hi blackjack, I look forward to seeing the photos to. are you a member of an archery club or do you hunt locally with your crossbow? just wandering as there aren't many ethical bow hunters around Perth that I know of so it would be good to be able to get in contact with a few and the way things are...

Thanks for the reply Frank, I'm in qld and you have to have a category m fire arms licence to own a xbow. The paper work, time, money and red tape is something I would not want to go through again. I hope it does not happen to you WA guy's! By the way ever noticed when an animal is found with a arr...

I shoot the Phoenix ('male' stocked Ibex) and a Vortex (stock with a hole). Both are great bows. But I shoot the lighter bow most. Easier to cock, easier on strings VERY accurate. Using self-made Flemish strings (quieter, faster, stronger than endless loop kind) and Gold Tip Lazer II arrows with 11...

Re: TruGlo a NoGo

I tried the red dot (made for turkey hunting) last night in my ladder stand and it is NOT going to work. The sight pictire is to small and it has very poor light gathering so I will put the lumi-zone back on today. Maybe a dedicated red do for crossbows would work better. l think theres a message h...

Re: Compounds vs crossbows

Id like this thread to be open to opinions on both compounds and crossbows. I shoot both a bear truth2 and an exocet however i must admit that i enjoy shooting/hunting more with my compound than my crossbow. My personal opinion is that it has become to easy with my crossbow to arrow deer and much m...

Re: Made some changes to my bow

During the off season I decided to get a Hawke scope for my X Bow The reticle has tilted inside so I put on a Barska X Bow scope I got off ebay a while back. It has a 4 line reticle but the problem is it is 4x and with my shots so close it's just more magnification than I like at those distances. S...

Re: thumbhole vixen

Looking for a crossbow for my 9 year old son. He has shot both my exocet and my brothers vortex. The vortex stock seems to fit him a little better, as it is a little shorter. Also, the pistol grip seems to give him a little better control. Im wondering how to get my hands on a thumbhole stocked vix...
