Re: Compound xbow brand
Buckmaster Maxpoint(Hybrid made by Bear/Excalibur as compound). Shot 339fps (Danny Miller cables/string) with 445grn 2219's but I tuned it down to to 329fps by backing down harness/string to provide dry fire buffer. FWIW - It shoots exactly as accurate as my Exomax & Vortex out to 50 yds and abo...

Re: Can we PLEASE get tapatalk for this forum?
I have tapatalk and use on ALL of my forums except 2. I haven't gotten spammed with any advertisements over last couple of years. I downloaded mine from iphone app store for free, so maybe you downloaded from a different source and it's bundled with a bunch of additional junk??

Re: Compound V.S recurve bows.
All in all there isn't a whole lot of performance difference between compound and recurve crossbows now adays..Compounds have a higher level of maintenance in that they must be timed on a regular basis(much more frequent than compound vertical bows) and this requires a pro shop unless you have a bow...

Re: Please Help. Micro Limb Problem? I Think.
IMHO - Exomax had a higher percentage of failures because of guys trying to "hot rod" them with the lightest arrows/hardest strings they could find:) These bows are already maximized and certainly designed for these strings/ arrows already.. Proportionally speaking these bows have had very...

Re: Why choose Excalibur
Forgot one...Danny Miller. At least if you are in the states,if all crossbows were the same, the one that Danny sold would get the nod. Sure glad that brand is Excal. :D This level of customer service along with the availability of accumulated knowledge on this board ensure that you will rest assur...

Re: Awesome
Danny has helped me so many times when it was "above and beyond" doing his job or just being a great customer service rep..
He is and hopefully will be our "go to" guy for many years to come.

Re: Excal twilight delux scope
I know nothing of hunting at night and for those with a need to justify that clarity vs dollar it makes sense, however for the other 95% of crossbow users, the Twilight and Shadowzone scopes provide the needed clarity to shoot deer in that 15% of legal last light without any question. Guys with comp...

Re: Excal twilight delux scope
I have one, and I think it's awesome. Have had numerous Vari/Shadowzones as well, and the Twilight is much better at dusk. I personally don't understand how everyone compares these scopes to scopes where clarity is "everything" such as long range rifles.. I could do the same with an XB30 a...

Re: How loud is a crankaroo
I think you're biggest risk following a shot is the movement rather than the noise. The challenge of cocking a crossbow using a rope cocker, crankaroo, or by hand will require the same stealth that compound hunters face on each and every shot:)

Re: How loud is a crankaroo
Without the pawl engaged, it is deadly silent. I had one that squeaked so I took it apart and cleaned the teflon spacer with alcohol and it became silent once again. I rarely ever engage the pawl anyways, but one time the knob slipped out of my hand almost at full cock and it came around faster than...

Re: Aluminum vs carbon
2219's for me as they group the best when straight. As said though, they are easy to bend, so buy an arrow puller. Check for straightness frequently and when you see groups "mysteriously" open up. Main advantage of Carbon is it's durability over Aluminum. Main advantage of Aluminum is it's...

Re: What broadheads would you suggest for a Exocet 165
VM, Bent blades are good(vs broken) IMHO. How did the ferrules hold up, did they still spin true? I used to shoot NAPs, Spitfires & T-heads but I found most Aluminum ferrules had a 50/50 chance of bending on each animal as the threaded shank was the weak link...Aluminum inserts (vs carbon/plasti...

Re: What broadheads would you suggest for a Exocet 165
You didn't tell us the total arrow weight ? Ppl. will findout quickly you either need plenty of arrow weight usin swhackers or a big pounder to drive it on thru! Good Point VM! From Shwacker FAQ's: Can I use Swhacker Broadheads with my crossbow? Yes. Our mechanical broadheads are well suited for us...
