I say it is a cash grab because they haven't suggested a later season for 85-86 (Huron-Perth) 2 of the densest deer populated units of the province. Some estimates are at 14 per sq mile with a carrying capacity of 5-6. Over 250 deer car collisions a year in Huron. So why a later season in all those ...

If they were really serious about reducing deer numbers there are many better options. Sell extra tags good for entire season regardless of weapon type Start an earn a buck program. Open the season earlier. Extend shotgun seasons. Apprentice only firearm hunts. The MNR is simply trying to pacify all...

I use a white sweatshirt and joggin pants picked up at a factory outlet cheap as no-one wants to wear white. A little spray paint and voila Snow camo. Not sure if it works on deer as they see UV rays abit different. Coyotes and geese don't see me though.

An interesting article in the latest deer and deer hunting mag about dashund weaner dogs being specifically bred for the job of tracking deer. There is a difference between a bloodhound and a deer tracker. They suggested using a leg with the tarsal gland still attached and dragging it through differ...

In Ontario youths must first pass the same hunter safety course given to everyone wanting a hunting license. If they are 12 or older they can then hunt with mentor during all open seasons, one weapon.

I just don't like adding the smell of a lubricant to the bow. I think sometimes hunters do all kinds of things to eliminate scent and then go and use lubricants on their weapons and it negates all the scent control they have utilized on clothes and body. _________________X2 I'll deal with the rust a...
