Re: Lead fragments in venison

"Irrational fear of of Biden banning ammunition sales caused people to hoard all types of rifle and shotgun shells (lead and non-toxic) leaving nothing available." Since you felt the need to include that, I'll also share my irrational fear of Biden not giving us our $2000.00 stimulus chec...

Lead fragments in venison

Last year I submitted a topic about lead fragments killing bald eagles when they eat what is left of field dressed deer. A recent study in Minnesota found that there was an alarming amount of lead fragments in deer meat donated to feed the hungry in that state. As I'm sure all of you know, lead is t...

Re: First sign of warmer weather

The snow is nearly all gone here. It was pretty deep a week ago but it was very cold when it fell and I think that results in less moisture per inch and a quicker melt. I'm getting ready to book a crappie fishing trip to Reelfoot lake in TN. The warmer temperatures have me thinking about fishing.

Re: O/T Amythntr

Happy birthday! I need your expert opinion on something. You may need to consider this yourself since you are looking at buying some property. Can I depreciate a $2,000.00 crossbow as harvesting equipment for the farm? I did it with a tractor (which I harvest nothing with) so why not a crossbow (or ...

O/T: Good advice and funny

I apologize for posting something so very off topic but with cabin fever from two different causes I think we can all use a good laugh. This is advice we all agree with and I found it very funny. Warning - it includes profanity

O/T Weather

It's 70F. as I type this, but that's indoors. Outside it's 2F. and snowing hard, with 6" - 10" forecast. I've never seen it snow this hard when it's this cold. It looks like most of the country is in the same boat. This can't be good for wildlife as this is the time of winter when food is ...

Re: Time marches on.....

I have two sons and neither of them likes to hunt much (though they both love venison). My youngest son's fiance (who is a Ferguson police officer- yes, "that" Ferguson) told me she wants to hunt deer next year both with a crossbow and a rifle. I told her the first thing we have to do is ...

Re: Last Year Making Strings!

I have a couple of your strings and I got one for a friend who has an excal bow. He finally killed his first deer with a crossbow last year using your string. Your strings sent a couple of arrows through deer for me last season. Good luck hunting and fishing and keep posting!

Re: Here Piggy Piggy!!

It's illegal to hunt wild hogs on public land in Missouri. The Conservation Commission says hunting is disruptive to their efforts to trap large groups of hogs. Our wild hogs are mostly in the southern part of the state (thank you Arkansas) and since I do my hunting in NE Missouri, I've never seen o...

Re: Anybody use one a deese

I was looking around for something similar myself. My favorite spot has a hang on stand and I have an old API shooting rail that I installed on it that has been there for more than a decade. The padding is in need of replacement, but it still functions perfectly. It's similar to this one... https:/...

Re: Anybody use one a deese

It would be totally useless to me. I keep my hands on my bow (in one way or another) at all times. I want to keep movement to a minimum in case a deer or turkey shows up by surprise.

I feel for you. The only real problem with dogs is that they don't live long enough. Even when they live a normal life span they break your heart every 12 years. Catch your breath and go get a puppy!

AJ, I officially am calling you my man crush (although I do still identify as a manly man). Well said.
Still too gay for me!
