Re: Max distance you would try a shot for moose?
Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. I wouldn't want to moose to come any closer then 15 yards really. Its a good thing to keep in mind, but like you said, obviously a last resort thing only if you feel its getting a little too close.

Re: Max distance you would try a shot for moose?
Thanks Tom. That was very informative! I do feel very confident with my shot at 60 yards and will keep practicing till season starts at distance of 40 to 60 yards. However I do know this is worst case scenario and will do everything I can to avoid shots that far. I would be very happy with 30yds or ...

Re: Max distance you would try a shot for moose?
Wow 10 yards is very close! That might get a little scary! Don't want to be like this guy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUder0flL5c) haha. I will try to get as close as possible for sure. I`m just asking in case you get in a scenario were the moose is 50 yards away, you have a perfect clear shot a...

Re: Newbie in need of advice for arrows for moose hunting.
The manual that came with the box says the kit as 6 GT arrows 360gr. I was wondering, when they say 360gr does that include the 100gr BH too? Or is the arrow itself 360 + 100gr tip = 460?

Max distance you would try a shot for moose?
Hi, This will be my first year hunting moose with a crossbow (Exomax) and I want to know what is the maximum distance you guys would attempt a shot? When a practice at home at 50yard I hit my target pretty much right on, maybe a 3" spread in my arrow placement on the target. I can do the same a...

Re: Newbie in need of advice for bolts for moose hunting.
Thanks Pydpiper. That seems pretty straight forward to do. Searching online I found a bunch of different inserts and also the little weights you can screw in between the insert and tip. Thats pretty cool and probably an easy way to had a bit of weight up front if necessary, Now I just need to do mor...

Re: Newbie in need of advice for bolts for moose hunting.
Ok Thanks. Well that makes sense keeping broadheads light so when I use the Judo, or whatever small game tip I get, I can get the same grain. So then this brings me to a new question.... - How do you get the inserts how of there without damaging anything? I searched online and people say to heat the...

Re: Newbie in need of advice for bolts for moose hunting.
Ok thats an idea. Although I don't mind changing just the broadheads. I was basically hoping I didn't have to change the broadheads and the bolts too cause after this purchase cash got a little low...

Newbie in need of advice for arrows for moose hunting.
Hi everyone, I'm new here...well Ive been watching for a while, but now I finally bought myself an Excalibur Exomax. I`m pretty pumped about it too! So the plan this season is to try Moose hunting in Northern Ontario with x-bows instead of rifles like we usually do so I want to make sure I am well p...
