Re: Picked up my new 380 yesterday

Not dumb or stupid at all. Unfortunately, the brace height was too low right from the shop you bought it from. Most shops don't seem to know how to correctly adjust/set the brace height on crossbows, and it causes issues. Seems bizarre to me that the pro shops selling these don't get it right, but t...

Re: New rings

I think the Burris Signature Zee rings are the absolute best. I'm also using a Nikon Bolt XR, btw. The Burris rings are a bit more spendy, but after trying a set I'll never buy a different ring again.

Great review, thanks! One question- what is the eye relief on this scope?

Re: heavier bolts and how to achieve them?

paulaboutform-

You said "Also, brass inserts are available and I think they weigh about 110gr". Is that in reference to the 2219 shafts? If brass inserts are available for 2219 shafts I'd like to know where from. :D

Re: Deer Knife

I have been using a Mora Companion. Don't let the low price fool you- they're excellent field knives. I personally like the stainless blade (they also make a high carbon blade version), and they hold an edge well enough to make it through multiple deer. They're also very easy to sharpen with a flat ...

Re: BOO TRIGGER ???

I'm wondering if perhaps Boo can answer this question about the triggers... will they work with an Easton 2317? :D I've read that some stock Excal triggers will work with that slightly larger shaft, but some not. The spine on the 2317 (.297) is a lot stiffer than the 2219 (.337) though, and it's als...

Re: Archery Moose

Oh yeah... I used this site to calculate the FOC for my arrows:

The math is easy I know... but I'm a busy guy. Or um... just lazy at times.

Re: Archery Moose

... My buffalo setup was 20" Easton FMJs, brass insert, Montec CS, 2" Blazers. FOC = 21%, total wt = 525gr. Hi Keith- I'm wondering how you're measuring your FOC. I've got some 20" FMJs, brass inserts, 3" Fusion vanes, and plastic flat nocks. With 100 grain VPAs the FOC comes ou...

Re: check your arrows!

I'm curious why I don't hear more about Easton FMJ crossbow arrows. I had a bunch made up last year with fusion vanes... so far they seem very durable and shoot well. No idea how many shots they'll be good for. I would hope more than 20 though!

Re: Matrix 355 w/ 502 grain arrows through chrono

According to Easton's KE calculator, that's 103.72 ft-lbs of KE. That's more than enough to blow through whatever game you're going after.

Re: Matrix 355 Blackout

I suppose I could do it myself, yes. If I did though, I would probably buy a 380 and somehow shorten the rail. I want a cheekpiece and REDS anyhow... no need for the ADF with the 355 though. Is the only difference between the two bows the rail length?

Thanks,

Matrix 355 Blackout

I have to say that I'd love to buy a 355 blackout. Any chance of such a beast coming available? Anyone else want one too? Once the "rush" on Matrix bows is over and Excal has caught up with the demand, I wonder if they'd be willing to assemble a one-off for me...

Re: Wonder how I missed this one

Hi everyone. First post here- I'm a relatively new Equinox owner. I love my new Equinox so much that I'm already contemplating picking up a second Excal. You know, to have a spare. Or maybe allow a friend to use it so I can have a hunting partner. Hmm. Nah! Anyhow the brown bear caught my atte...
