Re: Separating rail for stock
With the bow cocked and locked and on safety take the play out of the trigger by applying pressure to the trigger. Now there is no play left at the shot when the safety is released. No trigger work is required.

My guess on the beard would be old age
Spur length says it is a 2 year old bird. I have never seen a bird with a blond beard before.

Re: Last day to bag a turkey!
Classic two year old bird. Older birds start showing some amber in their beards and longer spur length.

Re: Super Jake
Sounds like you hit a few inches too far back. My brother did the same with a recurve trad bow a few weeks ago. The bird is probably dead but they are masters at hiding when wounded.

Dan,
I recently had an operation and was given some painkillers. On the bottle it said "Alcohol enhances effects" and it really does. I recommend it...
I hope you are doing OK.

Nice bird. That fan looks nice and rounded off to me. If it is then that is a 2 year old bird with a short beard.

Re: Excalibur 2012 Spring Turkey Contest Success Thread
Did not enter the contest as I am leaving on a long fishing trip in the morning but I decided to go out and see if I could get lucky and get a bird before I had to leave. Got this one at 9:30 this morning when I called his hens up and he followed. Shotgun kill. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y23/r...

Re: passed hunter education
Signed my son up for the hunter education course, then decided I'd take it, too. Had our final exams today, and I couldn't let him show me up, but he made it tough. He scored 96, but I edged him out with a score of 100 (a total of 100 questions on the test). That 50 years edge in experience paid of...

Re: String Upgrade question
My factory Flemish string uses the 20 yard crosshair at 30 yards while the original string is dead on at 20 yards with the same crosshair. I would say I am picking up about 20 or so FPS with the Flemish string.

A buddy of mine was talking about going out and practicing his cussing.... err..... fly casting, on the trout down in Georgia a week or so ago. Don't know if he ever made it out yet or not.
Pretty sure tomorrow is opening day here.
