Re: 2024 Season
I'm planning to get in more evening sits in the coming season. There was road construction between my home and hunting spot that made getting in a hunt after work all but impossible last year. I can't complain, because it was out best year ever on the property. But we really didn't have any buck sig...

Re: Time on your stand
I try to hunt the first and last 3 hours of legal shooting time. I like to be in the stand about 30 minutes before I can shoot, but sometimes it's only 15 minutes early. I've learned over the last couple of years to not climb down early in the evening. I've been busted by nice bucks exiting the stan...

Re: CWD
My only heartburn with CWD so far is with the limitations that are being imposed on hunters regarding carcass movement. The way I see it, there's no one that stands more to lose with the spread of CWD than hunters. As a general rule I've always found Virginia to be forward leaning in providing more ...

Re: What type of critter is this?????
One thing to remember when it comes to wild game meat Proper field care, makes for the best table fare! Great point! It's good to hear they are edible when treated right. This season my son arrowed a wide 7-point and the shot angle from the front high above had the arrow ending in the stomach area....

Re: 2 new 2024 Excalibur Crossbows
The Suppressor Extreme looks like it replaces the Suppressor 400 TD which is no longer listed. It's largely the same just minus the take down and add the Ceasefire trigger. That should shave a little weight. It also comes in at a lower price point than it's predecessor. I looks like the TD feature m...

Re: New Hampshire and trail camera`s
Over-regulation, plain and simple.
So I can't put out any type of trail camera or treestand on my private property unless I put my name on them first? Why on earth should I have to put my name on them? They're my property on my property. Ridiculous.

Re: Excal. Equinox
The first 2-3 years of production they had the grey rail. Then camo was added for the remaining years. At the time it was the flagship bow and may have been the first Excalibur model with a camo rail. I don't think there were any other differences other than the camo. Someone else can chime in if th...

Re: Trail Cameras and Bears
This will take your cams well out of nose level. https://www.spyhighmounts.com/ Mounting the cameras higher is the only thing I found that worked. The Spy High system worked great for me last year. You do give up some detection range when you mount them high, so I would only do it if/when necessary...

Big bear
Well, heavy at the very least.

I'm guessing at some point they lose their ability to climb.
