Re: Crossbow Strings
All the string makers on here make a good string. Some use BCY, some use Brownell's product. You can find three bundle, two bundle with cat whiskers, one guy even tucks the tag ends in for a clean looking string without the puffball. And one guys strings are so coveted you have to get on a waiting l...

Re: Best long range bolts
I've shot my best long-range groups using tactical tapps from South Shore. 92gr brass insert, 100gr F. point, sk 300 vanes, set back 1 3/8" to avoid vane interference with my Adf. Foc 19. Jeff

Re: Excal cub reviews
I originally brought a Cub for some youngsters in my family who are showing an interest in hunting. I've added Danny Miller's bumpers, his Flemish string and an ADF to it. It shoots 400 gr. arrows @ 292fps. Your wife will appreciate the shorter length of pull. It also works well when you ware a heav...

Clevelandblackoxide.com i've never had them anodize a rail, but we send components from our machine shop there to get various coatings and they do decent work. Regardless of where you go make sure you specify what kind of finish you want on the top of the rail. 32 -16 surface finish would be ideal. ...

Re: stirrup
The sturip comes in handy while hunting out of my ground blind, I rest my bow between my legs with the stirrup down, without it the Brodhead will be sticking in the dirt. It also comes in handy in a tree stand, I use it to hang your bow out of the way while rattling, eating your lunch or, peeing on ...

Re: Shortening a Matrix stock
Have you considered buying a sapphire or Cub stock, or trading with a member on this fourm for one? You may have to drill and tap your rail, not sure if the holes from the sapphire/Cub will Match the 355 matrix stock you're using now. I have shortened a Exomag stock. PM me I'll give you details/pics...

Re: Gas Attack at Home Depot
The good thing about being in the Home Depot when the urge hit is they have those orange 5 gallon buckets strategically placed throughout the store  Imagine the look on the clerks face if he turn the corner and saw you in the aisle squatted over one of those buckets. I laughed so hard reading t...

Re: String stretch
1 inch off the bumpers sounds like quite a bit, leave it cocked overnight and shoot it some more, it may stretch some. A string expert will come along and chime in with more concise advice. Jefro

I'm going to dust the non-threaded surfaces in the bead blaster, just a little too bright and shiny for my taste.

Re: Scope experts needed
I am not a scope expert, but I've hunted with a crossbow with nothing but red dots or one pin sights from 1989 to 2010. if you go with the red dot get one with a small 3 Moa dot. A 5-6 moa can be the size of a dinner plate @ 40 yds. Jefro

Re: Anyone shooting "Heavy" bolts?
I had the same experience as the other members using a 525gr arrow. Great accuracy, they nose dive at 40 yards and buck the wind better than a lighter arrow. Jefro
