Re: Need a new Headlamp - Recommendations?

The Fenix HM65R looks like an excellent choice. The battery life is outstanding. I may have to get one of these for myself

Re: Venison Aging/Processing

It's called wet aging and if you don't have a walk in cooler it's the way to go. Danielle Prewett of Meateater posted a great article on this a few years ago (see link below). Danielle also posts many great wild game recipes. She has one I have used for squirrel noodle soup which is awesome. https:/...

Re: Need a new Headlamp - Recommendations?

I did a fair amount of research on headlamps last year. I have long pack in's and pack out's in the dark so battery life and dependability were my primary objectives. I ended up purchasing the Surefire Minimus and have been very satisfied with the performance. It's a bit pricing but dependability wa...

I am the Imelda Marcos of hunting boots and hunting back packs. I have boots and packs for any possible need. I would be embarrassed to tell you how many I actually own :wtf:

HOW MANY STANDS DO YOU HUNT DURING THE RUT

So I have a debate going with a few of my hunting friends over how many stands someone should hunt during the rut. Re: What is the best ever made Excalibur-crossbow and why? (Your personal opinion.)

In my humble opinion the Matrix 355 and the Matrix 380 are the best bows and I am sad they don't make them anymore. Plenty of power and fairly compact and most importantly they are accurate, simple and reliable.

Saddle Hunting

So I am interested in the concept of saddle hunting. I like the idea that I can have numerous tress prepped but all I need to hunt is a set of Lone Wolf Climbing sticks and my saddle. It seems like a very mobile concept without the cost of having to purchase numerous hang on tree stands. Saddle hunt...

I like the weight of the full metal jackets but have found they can break very easy. For my money it's Zombies for all my bows.
