I can set my camera to take one picture per minute or one picture every five minutes. I usually leave it at the five minute interval and have taken numerous double and triple shots of the same deer over 10 or 15 minutes. Seems to me that most don't mind the flash. Other times I only get one picture....

The arrow went in and turned back into the body cavity. The whole arrow was still inside the body when I field dressed it. No exit. Took out the tops of the lungs, missed the heart completely (too high) and went back through the liver area. The arrow was recovered and could be used again after clean...

The hole is enormous. I never imagined it would be that big. The deer was somewhat below me in elevation and quartering toward me when it stopped. I was hunting from the ground on a thick, brushy side hill concealed behind a thicket of briars in the edge of a treeline. My treestand wasn't giving me ...

First Archery/Crossbow buck with Excalibur

Fist ever deer with archery equipment. Bought my bow back in February, been practicing all year. Its an Excalibur Exocet 200 , 100 grain Wasp Boss SST's. Ran a total of about 40 yards and fell over. Hit was a little high and forward but worked. Shot was made at 20 yards, I think I overestimated the ...

Thanks for the responses. I may have to try a pack of the 125's in my Exocet to see how they perform.

Slick Tricks? 100 grain vs 125 grain

I notice that the 100 grain Slicks sell out quickly wherever they are found. Seems there are lots of 125 grain Slicks available.

Why are the 100's so preferable? Is it simply because they fly faster than the 125's?

Forgive the novice question but I was just wondering.

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick responses. Slicktricks are virtually non-existant where I'm located and just about as hard to find on-line right now. I thought about getting some earlier but also heard pretty good reports on the Wasp's so I put off getting the Slick Tricks. I'll have to make do with what I hav...

Frustrated with broadheads- Is this normal?

Novice crossbow shooter here, bought my first (Exocet 200) in February and been practicing with field points since then. I've ruined several arrows from hitting the last one shot at 30 and even 40 yards. The accuracy with field points is amazing. Tried out my broadheads today and am all frustrated! ...

I used Weaver Low height rings that I had around from a rifle that I wasn't using. They work and zero at all ranges with my Vari-zone scope. They are VERY low and close to the base. I can just slip a piece of paper between the scope and the scope mount in the center. I have seen the Excalibur rings ...

Any one see or use these broadheads

Anybody see these broadheads or try them?

They have curved blades to put spin on the arrow and are billed as high speed crossbow broadheads.

My local Walmart just got them in. Expensive, $30 for three, though.

Is scent eliminating clothing necessary?

I've been successfuly hunting deer for many years with shotgun and rifle. This is my first year hunting with archery equipment, namely my new Exocet. I am carefull to minimize scent on myself by washing, wearing clean hunting clothes washed in scent free soap kept in a plastic storage container when...
