Re: ATTN: Old stubborn men on this site!
I hunted over 55 years and probably used a harness 3 times now I'm sitting here with cracked ribs and 3 broken vertebrae on opening day. Stand was strapped chained and lag bolted to tree. Dropped out from under me like a trap door after I sat there for a half hour. Go the safe route. I'm lucky I ca...

Re: ATTN: Old stubborn men on this site!
I confess that I have never worn a harness. When I was younger I hunted from a hang on stand with a folding seat and used screw in steps. My bow was a Hoyt Pro Hunter recurve and I never used a harness. Now, I only hunt from stands that have a shooting rail, and I feel perfectly safe. I'm sure scen...

Re: Hunting the lunar charts.
I watch the weather report, scout the places I hunt, and make sure I don't stink! I play the wind in the areas that show recent sign, and that seems to work for me. I'm with you, I don't trust the magic 8 ball!  That's the ONLY way to hunt as far as I'm concerned  Dave :D

Re: 30 more days
Two weeks from today for us. Current forecast is for low of 58 high of 80. If it doesn't get cooler I'll hunt the morning and go fishing that afternoon. It's a long season (until Jan. 15) and we seem to have plenty of deer. I don't need to over do it early.  Good Luck to all. Dav...

Re: Is this REALLY a crossbow???
  :wtf: Not only is this not a crossbow, I don't think you can call it a bow at all. Bows have limbs. This appears to be spring driven. Bow limbs are actually a type of spring in much the same way the leaf springs on a vehicle are considered springs. Let me muddy the water - All bow li...

I wish you and the Mrs. well Mike,
if the vixen gets lonely for Missouri,
she can come and stay here close to her ol'e
homestead.
Good Luck my friend.
