Re: More, Trendy Vanes!
For those who might want to read the main body of Dr. Ashby's work go to Alaska Bowhunting Supply and click on Ashby Reports. http://www.alaskabowhunting.com/Dr.-Ed-Ashby-W26. It is gratifying to see that this group is beginning to make and sell arrows and broadheads based on his field test ideas an...

Re: More, Trendy Vanes!
Hey Bstout: So far I have only tried turbulators on arrows fletched with blazers and vantec vanes along with 100 grain field points that I use for 3d tournaments. I also chrongraphed my 2216 XX78 aluminum arrows with and without the turbulator and got a duplication. I also tried turbulators on some ...

Re: More, Trendy Vanes!
"No fletching at all along with a huge hunting head will really fly squirrelly. Tiny fletchings with a huge hunting head are about the same as no fletchings with a large hunting head." Not necessarily so. Recently, Dr. Ed Ashby and others have been experimenting with "turbulators"...

Re: Another Ontario Bear Scare...
I agree bring back the spring bear hunt. I Have seen 6 bears in the last two weeks. + there was one in my yard which I didn't see, but another person did. The Northern Ontario economy has taken many hits in the last few years including the loss of revenue from the great number of American Bear hunte...

Re: Hawke Scopes
Has anyone field tested the Hawke XB 30 scope? Are there any reviews out there yet? I know this scope has only been on the market for a short time, but the silence is beginning to make me wonder if it's over-hyped. In the meantime, I have been using the varizone and have found it excellent and troub...

Re: Best Crossbow Target to buy
I've been using the rinehart 18 in 1. It's good for broadheads and fieldpoints. It's also warranteed
for a year. After five years I bought a second I still get some use out of the old one while shooting my Browning micro-adrenaline compound bow.

Boo: Have you read Zen in the Art of Archery by Eugen Herrigel? I understand that archery is one of the first things they teach you in a Zen Monastery in Japan. One of my community who survived the Atomic bombing of Horoshima studied for awhile at a Zen monastery. It was he who reported studying and...

Re: Easton Tracer nocks
I used them last year for the first time. Took a small buck and was able to see the nock flash
from my stand after it had passed through the deer. They work best in low light.

Good to hear that the glue works well on both carbon and aluminum arrows. Hopefully more
fletchers will report in with their results once this glue gets better known

Loctite Superglue upgrade?
Just purchased the latest version of the loctite superglue. It's called utra gel, and the package states that it "withstands daily use and harsh conditions. Resists: impact, shock, vibration, heat, cold, moisture etc." So basically it is the loctite version of the gorilla glue impact formu...

Re: My NAA Indoor Nationals Results
Congratulations on your fantastic score. I am also interested to know about your set up. Were you using a scope or a red dot sight or just going with the set up out of the box? Do you know the speed of the arrows you were shooting? What distance are the targets set at? How do you think the Apex woul...
