Re: Vertical Bow Hunters Help
Someone who understands archery will realize the tactics are the same no matter what is launching the arrow. When I use my vertical bow I have to be a little more exposed, have to be a little quieter and careful about movement, and lose about 10 minutes of legal light due to sights. If I get a old d...

Another Mag 340 success on same day
I got a buck this morning. This afternoon one of our neighbors who works for my Dad said his son wanted to hunt a deer and had not before. I volunteered to guide him in my spot and loan him my Mag 340. I loaded the same bolt I used this morning. I did sharpen the blades and replace one vane. Anyway,...

Mag 340 bolt tune worked!
Thanks for the tips! I put some 110 grain insert in the Quills, Luminock, 150 grain Sonic BH. This buck came in the shooting lane and the bolt sailed right through. He didn’t go 20 yards.

Re: My Dad found the first deer!
That is the Mount for the Arrowlock quiver. It’s on the Matrix. I’m back in the blind now with my Micro. Had to get out of the hail storm for a while and switched out the wet crossbow for a dry one.

Re: Trailblazer Innerloc 150 grain quick review
I don't think they're defective. You can see the machine marks all over them. That's just what they call "sharp". I see plenty of BH's and even knives that are sharpened but not razor shaving sharp and that is what you need for hunting....

Re: ATV loading a deer buy yourself
I can't afford to buy a lot of stuff and where I am I can't haul a lot of stuff around. There is a lot of low mesquite and live oak and not much tall trees. I use a simple solution that is cheap. I have a heavy braided rope with a loop on one end and clip like a carabiner on the other. You put that ...

My Dad found the first deer!
I'm sitting in the deer blind today, you can zoom and see the deer in front of me. I'm waiting for a big one. Anyway my Dad shot a deer on the 7th that I told you about, he couldn't find it and he ended up with another deer a few days later. Well he kept looking for the first one. He used my Mag 340...

Re: My Micro lags behind my Matrix a lot
This was not with the Trailblazer head, but a cut-on-contact 3 blade sharp as a razor. Not a broadhead issue at all. I'm gonna change a few things and experiment. Thanks!

Re: My Micro lags behind my Matrix a lot
We've had almost 100% pass throughs with the Matrix 380 and that 475 grain bolt set-up. 4 failure to pass through in a row with the Micro 340 and the 410 grain Quill set-up. Same BH's. I'm going to try the Quills with 110 grain insert and also I have a few BEZS that are 16 inch that need vanes and i...

Re: My Micro lags behind my Matrix a lot
I set up my chronograph and put the Vs around 10 feet away. The Matrix 380 is 359 FPS and the Mag 340 is 315 FPS with my set-up. So 44 FPS difference. Not as much as I thought, but I still see a lot more penetration from the M380. I am going to try the BEZS with 110 grain insert at 16" in the M...

Trailblazer Innerloc 150 grain quick review
First of all, these blades are nowhere near sharp out of the package. You could barely cut your finger and certainly not paper. Out of the package we shot two deer and a hog. Not a huge sample, but all the cuts were jagged rips. On animals, one blade looked serrated upon recovery and on another one ...

My Micro lags behind my Matrix a lot
In theory my Mag 340 should be only 40FPS slower than my Matrix 380 with the same weight bolt. My Mag340 bolt is 410 grains (Factory Quill, Luminock, 150 grain BH) and my Matrix 380 bolt is 475 grain (18" BEZS, 110 grain insert, Luminock, 150 grain BH). Even with the much heavier bolt the Matri...
