Re: My 380 is a 380!

And to give you a few more speed numbers, here is what I did back in July 2017 with the exact same Diablo 18" bolt at 387 grains... The Sapphire with Vixenmaster's 24-strand speed string did 277fps. The Matrix 355 with Vixenmaster's 36-strand durable string did 319fps. The Matrix 355 with Vixen...

Re: My 380 is a 380!

Matrix 380, full Dr. Stirrup stuff (bumpers, silencers, stirrup). The two bolts I used were: Diablo 18" with a field point, weight is 401 grains. Executioner 18" with a field point, weight is 387 grains. Vixenmaster 28-strand Force 10 string shot the Diablo at 354fps and the Executioner at...

Re: My 380 is a 380!

Working on it, maybe after dinner I will have some speed numbers for you. I have the 20, 30, 40, and 50yd markers in place in the yard so I can place my target easily. I just found the tripod for my chrono.

Re: My 380 is a 380!

I'll try to pull my 380 limbs off to see what their numbers are, and then run a stock Diablo through the chrono this weekend. I've got a 28-strand Vixen string on it, but I think I still have the factory zombie green string from the 350 to use. It does seem like these new limbs are a bit slow.

can you tell a different in cocking effort?
He doesn't know yet, he's trying to figure out why the limbs won't flex when he pulls the string.

Re: Trophy Ridge XV530IR ON SALE

Just wondering if they are that much better in low-light conditions than the Tact-Zone. Where I hunt, the trees are to my west so those last few minutes are always darker than I would wish for.

Re: My 380 is a 380!

I'm sure the end result is that it'll be right as rain, the problem is the riser or the limbs. Surprised they didn't ask for both, just to make sure everything was good on it. Now I want to get out and chrony mine to make sure it shoots the advertised speeds! I think mine has the original mounting h...

Re: New Crossbow arrived today ...

Congrats on your new bow. The 380 is a very good choice. I started with the Axiom, sold it for a 330, then went to a 355, then added a 350LE, then replaced the 355 with the 380.

Re: So Maybe

Well, the length of the rail matches my Matrix 380, so you've got the right rail. For reference, I took pictures of my 380 and my 350LE where the limbs attach. I know the 380 was sent in for replacement limbs somewhere late 2016 or early 2017 by the previous owner, not sure it received any of the &q...

Re: 405 limited production in 2017?

Absolutely! I need another bow like I need more taxes taken out of my paycheck, but geez this sale even had me thinking about buying for a minute or two. I'm with you on that. But then I came to my senses and talked myself out of it real quick. I realized I already have some great Excalibur bows Pu...

Re: So Maybe

Had a 330, sold it for a 355, which I then sold for the 380. For hunting, the 380 is the one to have. However, if you are target practicing, keep the 330 around or get a 350 (which is what I did). I found that extended periods of shooting the 380 builds character.

Great Choice !
IMO, every X-bow collection ( be it 1 bow or many ) could do with a 380 Matrix.
