Re: Adding picatinny rail to scope

That is a nice looking setup, that rimfire should be well tamed by 6 screws per scope ring. I had seen some of the other scope top ring replacements that add a section of rail. Not sure that I would want to pay the additional price that SWFA is asking for their rings. Would rather go with a plastic ...

Adding picatinny rail to scope

The newer scopes are leaving less and less room to add accessories. The front bell is wide open for adding a clamp with a picatinny rail. I measured the scope front bell and came up with a clamp mount that also has a small section of picatinny rail. With a bit of cad work and some time on the printe...

Re: M330 popping noise after cocking

I would also recommend pulling both limbs off and giving both of the limbs a very close inspection, by eye and then with a cotton ball. If they both pass then start looking at other hardware.

Re: Inside Dia. of easton 2216 shafts?

Easton 2216s list out as being 12.0 GPI, the Easton RPS aluminum inserts are 31.0 grains each. So 16.5 Inches*12.0 GPI is 198 grains and then add the 31.0 grains for the front insert gets you to 229 grains. Add the weight of the Ignitor rear nock (36 grains?) will get you to 265 grains. Add on the 1...

Re: Hunting Upland Game With a Bow

Might be a possibility if the loop on the clip goes down small enough so that it cannot slide past the serving. The D loop is trying to get to the middle of the string when you pull it back. You do have quite a bit more mass to deal with if you are using a metal clip that you would need to be sure i...

Marcel, Congrats on the deer. If you look at the icons that come up above the window where you are editing your post you will see a square that looks like a couple of mountains with a sun. If you hold the mouse over this icon it will say insert image and when you click on it and it will add the foll...

Re: Upgrading lock washers on trigger to frame screws

The split lock washers are already digging into the finish and the hardware is out of sight when the bow is assembled. The belleville washers are a bit of an improvement over the split lock washers, although figuring out what specific torque to use is a royal pain to get right as if you go too much ...

Re: Hunting Upland Game With a Bow

If we look at the power stroke numbers for the Micro 355 at 10 inches and the Matrix Sapphire is listed at 10.8" with a speed of 305 fps. Even with dropping the last .8" we are going to likely still be in the 250 to 300 fps range. Maybe even as low as 230 fps with the different versions of...

Re: Printed a broadhead wrench

Not quite there on the homebuilt 3D printers to do metal, yet. I weighed the print and it worked out to costing around $0.16 USD as I can get a kilogram of PLA filament for $29 USD. There is a bit of additional cost for the electricity to run the machine as well although if we throw in a couple of c...

Re: Printed a broadhead wrench

Good eye on that being a loonie, got that the last time I made it up for Boofest and was able to get it back across the border into Michigan. The material for this print was PLA plastic. This is what I usually use for quick testing and calibration and can also print in ABS, and PETG and do print som...

Not good, hopefully it is a limited outbreak as it can decimate the population if they have not developed much in the way of immunity.

Re: Upgrading lock washers on trigger to frame screws

They are a bit expensive compared to the standard split lock washers they are replacing, although it gets pretty reasonable if you have several bows to install them on.

Re: Hunting Upland Game With a Bow

Have only tried about a dozen shots at close range without a scope on the bow to verify that it will cock back and fire consistently. Will need to put a scope on the test bow and see how it performs at longer distances. The longer the D loop means the slower the arrow is going to be and will have mo...

Upgrading lock washers on trigger to frame screws

If you are looking at a way of keeping the two screws tight on the trigger assembly to the frame. Take a look at Nord-Lock washers. Very interesting method of keeping bolts and screws from coming loose. http://www.nord-lock.com Here is a video that they posted comparing multiple methods of keeping h...
