Re: buy from amazon
i would prefer to support local businesses but the local sportshop doesn't have room for much stock so you have to order almost everything and then the price is generally much higher and my last 2 orders were messed up. i'm 55 miles from the cabela's etc of the world and i don't want to make that dr...

this is probly all old hat for most of you guys but it's all new to me... was sitting on a transition from a swamp to a field at dusk last night watching a doe angle away from me in the field. i then realized that the dark blob approaching her from the opposite direction was a deer- a big one. she j...

i don't have a lot of use for any pop artists or pop culture in general so i hate to admit this but there was some music series featuring tony bennett and different younger guest artists doing old time ballads together. they were all pretty good but the best one & the one who seemed the most res...

Re: Slug Gun Question
when i was a poor college student in the 70's, i bought an 870 and used it for all my hunting. loved it. 45 years later after having dropped it, dunked it, & dinged it i still use it. when #1 son came of age i bought him a 20 gauge 870 with a slug barrel figuring with this he could hunt everythi...

Re: Luminock replacements for Quill 16.5
hey looper, i've been debating either adding lumenoks to my current quills or buying the premade illuminated quills. how do you like them? how did they shoot? as near as i can figure from reading about them, they weigh around 402 grains with boltcutters?

Re: Shooting AT the Shoulder
I thought I would throw in some more anecdotal evidence. 220 grn Core Lok out of a 30-06 didn't even make out through the left shoulder. So I would say shoulder shot is a bad idea as the others have said...[/quote] anecdotal bullet question/observation: 1. i have used core-locks for 40+ years but ha...
