Re: Matrix Case

Get a double rifle case and save yourself a lot of frustration. Those soft or hard cases that house the xbow complete are the size of a three ring circus tent and can use half a pick up box. There is not a lot of room in them for anything else. The riser assembly complete with limbs can be removed f...

Re: Arrow length question

I shortened standard Firebolts from 20" to 18" and the accuracy from my Vortex got better. I think it is because arrow flexes less(more spine). If you go to a 22" arrow that does not have good spine and are using a high draw weight xbow it may flex a lot and accuracy might be poor. Th...

Re: TenPoint Crossbow Technologies Purchases Horton Assets

Agree with you about lost jobs in the home market, however, it is likely Horton was not really North American other than geographically any longer. Sale or succession can cause a large difference. Excalibur is navigating the same things but by wise order of succession and IMHO make the best xbow ava...

Re: Shot my Matrix 355 thru my F1 today!

Cut down the rail ??????   . I have heard rumours that some of the other models will get the matrix limb system maybe 2014. as well as a not so good seller or 2 will be dropped. These are just rumours but who knows? X2 :? It would be hard for me to spend the money then do that. I am...

Re: X-Act Mechanical Broadhead ??

Most of the posts or picture I see on here about mechanicals are about damage. That is the trade off for quick path to accuracy. I have tried about 15 different BH following what I read on here. The experimenting is fun but in the end I had problems with mechanicals like I see on here. My favorite B...

Re: Grizzly Attack in Fernie, BC

Don't know what the stats say about it but when I am fishing or picture taking in some areas I wear ankle bells as well as carry a scattergun. Have not had to use the gun yet.

Re: Made A Mistake Today

Thanks VM. Kind of thought that but want to avoid partial dry fire. Have not had a DF yet and it never hurts to ask all the experience on here. Might install a pair of suppressors to do testing.

Re: Made A Mistake Today

Well how can I go against what the good book says! Have a question for you Matrix users. I have shortened my Firebolts to 18". They are fletched with 2" Blazers using the "Bolt" and tipped with 175 gr. SlickTrick magnum. They blast through about anything and accuracy from the Vor...

Made A Mistake Today

Went down to get some Panther Martin lures for a grayling fishing trip I got planned this weekend. Have been trying to stay away from archery dept. but thought what can it hurt, unfortunately the Matrix xbows were there. Picked them up, checked them out and tried drawing them. I have not felt a need...

Re: Speed Ring on Tact-Zone

Try using the 20 yd. sight in then move to 40 yd. Adjust ring until that marker is on 20 yd. impact point. That should get it done. Search this forum. I read that procedure on here and it works.

Re: Tact-Zone Scope=thumbs down

It looks like this scope is quite sensitive to eye relief distance. Installing a cheek rest should should help with head positioning. I bought a Hawke XB30 and while there are some things about it I liked the Shadow Zone is back on my Vortex. I think it is a better all round scope. There are many va...

Re: what blades do you use

I hunt with xbow only now (Vortex). I have shortened firebolts tipped with the 175 gr. SlickTrick mag. Penetration and accuracy are excellent. They are fletched with 2" blazers using the "Bolt" fletching tool. They pass through large animals easily. I also have a few shortened firebol...

I think that with all the input from very experienced people on here many of us newbs are trying things and getting excellent results and posting them with pride. I know I have learned a huge amount reading on here and have avoided many pitfalls. That says a lot about how good this forum is. I don't...

Re: Spine question

For a hunter like me who refuses to take a shot over twenty yards,( my choice is 15 or less and I have taken more deer than my age, only one of which was over 20 yards) I think you are trying to polish a diamond with wax paper. Spine doesn't really matter if your bow can put the arrow within a silv...

Re: Diablo fleching Part two

A year ago I did not have much experience with stripping and re fletching. I got the AZ EZ Fletch "Bolt" and have never looked back. It is inexpensive and easy to use, if you want radical helical fletching. It comes with arms for vanes up to 2-1/4". There are other arms available for ...
