Re: GRZ2
It's not a bad shooting little crossbow, especially for the price. My son bought one towards the end of last hunting season and promptly killed a doe with it. We were practice shooting together before he hunted with it and it surprised me being quieter than my Axiom at the time.

Cat Whiskers
Are any of you using Cat Whiskers on your crossbow strings and if you are, what do you think of them??? I used to use them on my compound bow years ago but have never tried them on a crossbow.

Re: Check your local Walmart
I have 3 Walmarts within about 15 miles of me and all 3 have had their hunting clearance sales going on for about a month now. They are all pretty well wiped out. I did get some scent elimination spray and doe "P" cheap yesterday but broadheads were all gone with the exception of Swackers ...

Re: Aluminum bolt specs
I believe the T6 vs T9 designations have to do with the tempering. The main things one should be concerned with regarding aluminum arrow shafts is the outer diameter and the wall thickness. Easton shafts were for years specified like 2219 or 2317 or 2115, where the first set of two digits was appro...

Re: Aluminum bolt specs
I recall from my days of working on aircraft that the "T" number indicated the hardness of the aluminum..... The harder the aluminum the more brittle it is....Sorry but I can't recall if the higher or lower number was harder.

Re: Excalibur scopes
I believe you are correct about the Tact-zone having 30 mm rings and both the other two scopes you mentioned needing 1 inch, so in order to use them you would need to buy new rings. You have plenty of time before next hunting season so you might want to try out the tact-zone before changing the scop...

Well I had made up my mind to buy the 308 Short Banchee and then ran across a deal here on the forum for a 335 Nightmare that just couldn't pass up....and I saved myself about $250...just couldn't help myself. What can I say, I'm cheap.....LOL

Re: Camera on Matrix
There was a fellow at the Great Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pa selling a mount that clamped around the forward end of your scope that would accept a go-pro camera. It seened like a solid mount. Sorry, I don't recall what company he was with but at least you might be able to search the internet for s...

Re: Most Sought After '18
That's great news Clyde. What's your opinion on cocking the 308, compared to your Axiom? It's a little harder to pull up than the Axiom but the shorter difference in length that you have to pull makes it not bad at all. I'm going to be 66 years old in May and I'm not a big person (5' 10") so i...

Re: Most Sought After '18
I'll post my thoughts on it after I shoot it. I'll sure try to enjoy myself.....Thanks I shot the 308 Short Banshee today..... I liked the way it felt in my hands being a small crossbow. I was only able to shoot two bolts as the Excalibur range was very busy. Both bolts were about as close together...

Re: Most Sought After '18
I really like the new 308 Short Banshee. I will be attending the Harrisburg Great Outdoor Show this Friday and my local Archery Shop has arranged to have me meet the Excaliber Rep at the show and shoot the 308 Short Banshee. I haven't been able to find one locally to handle. Anyway, if I shoot the ...
