Re: Midge Fly

It's been reported in 3 counties in SW PA. News stations reported 150 dead deer. I'm afraid that it will be 10 times that number or mord before we get a frost.

Re: QUIVER TIME

I too use the Kwikee 3, however, I mount it directly to the forearm on all of my crossbows. Very light and convenient and I think it just looks good!

Re: Tree Harness

Very interested in the concept of using a rock climbing harness as some have mentioned. For those using them I am curious how you attach to the tree? Looking at pictures of the harnesses it looks like there are two loops, one at each hip. Do you attached to the tree using these loops? I have lifeli...

Re: Tree Harness

I switched to a rock climbing harness last year and I wouldn't even consider anything else. In a controlled experiment, I hung from each harness. The tree harness has you facing away from the tree. They are also shown to induce suspension trauma very quickly. There's a lot of info about them on the ...

Re: Extra String

Call Danny Miller. His strings are really well made and quite reasonable. Order the Boo string for next year. They are a work of art!

Re: My season is history.....

Thoughts and prayers are with you!

10 years ago last March, I had quintuple (beat you by 1) bypass. I was able to hunt that fall using a vertical compound. Just listen to the Dr. and soon you'll
feel better than you've felt in quite awhile.

Re: Tuff Gettin Old!

Whoever called them the Golden Years must have been colorblind! I feel very fortunate that at 76 I'm still able to go. I hang about 15 hang ons each year, then end up not using all of them. I had quintuple (5) bypass surgery 10 years ago. I ride a bicycle alot, and feel that it has added years to my...

Re: See All open sight

Thanks guys. I've read many of the reviews. but haven't found any using crossbows. I would like to try an Eotech, but really don't want to spend that kind of money.

See All open sight

I'm considering trying one of these for next year. All of my shooting is close range and those rutting bucks don't give you much time. Anyone try one on a crossbow? I'm thinking that it might be more dependable than a red dot, however, I'm not sure it could be adjusted for a sharp image for my old e...

Re: Wasp Broadheads?

I shot 125 gr. Wasp SST Hammer broadheads for many years. They fly great and penetrate very well. I got pass thru s using a 52 lb. High Country bow. All but one of the more than a dz. kills dropped within sight. Last year, I used Slick Tricks. They seem to fly better with my crossbow. However, I bel...

Re: O/T Copperhead Snake Pic

That's the only good snake-a dead snake! I hate (fear) snakes. We just got back from FL. I killed a coral snake right out on the street. It was at least the 4th coral snake killed in the RV park this year. About the same time, a K9 dog from the Tampa police was bitten by a 4 1/2 ft eastern diamondba...

Re: What name would you hang on this bow?

Google Lewis Wetzel. Famous Indian fighter from near Wheeling,WV. Pioneers loved him, Indians feared him and referred to him as "le Vent Noir" which translates to "Deathwind". Since most of his hunting was for the Shawnee in Ohio, it would be sort of a hometown name. Stunning bow...

Re: How long after?

I feel your pain Bluz! The good thing is that the worst is over. I had quintuple(5) bypass 9 years ago the end of March. I ride a bike quite a bit and haven't had any more problems. At that time I was shooting a 55# vertical bow, and I was able to shoot and hunt by Oct. As was previously mentioned, ...
