Re: Interesting CWD Developments
An Australian doctor proved that stomach ulcers were caused by bacteria, and had to fight the medical/scientific community to accept the proof. He had a whole pharmaceutical world against him. He offered simple solution (combination of existing antibiotics) to CURE the ulcer vs trend in pharmaceuti...

Re: 440
Two major differences in Canada: 1. There are not so many deer around here (I guess we were more efficient hunters here than you guys down south 😆) 2. Insurance companies here still take big bucks from Average Joe (like we have elephants on the roads, never mind deer), but don't spend much of that m...

Re: 440
The problem is there is a lot of push back now from some states on the new technology in crossbows and its getting hard to argue with it. Some states are now looking at reducing their crossbow season, making a separate crossbow season or moving it back to rifle !! I hunt with a crossbow because I h...

Well, at least you had a chance. I don't know what was criteria for anyone being offered to enter the draw, but nobody offered it to me for sure.

Re: Portable Crossbow Tripod
Someone was selling Caldwell Field Pod on Trading post while back. I looked for that post recently and couldn't find it. Anybody knows if it's sold? I am looking for one.

I haven't decided yet. Too busy renovating cottage. But most likely I will go with my spare matrix string.

Re: 405 brace height?
I also have 380 and have a spare string for it. When a i compared that one with one installed on my 405 later is about 1/2" or maybe bit more shorter. When I install my spare matrix string on 405 brace height falls to 1" where I think it should be. I would feel more comfortable shooting th...

Re: 405 brace height?
I haven't put any turns. Girl at Excalibur replaced limbs and riser and installed new string. I left it as it is for about two months and then just removed it on one side and put zip tie to keep it from unraveling. That's what I do at the end of season for all my crossbows. Reinstalled strings for a...

Re: 405 brace height?
As Flightattend would say, it won't hurt a thang  You should want a 1/4" between the string and the bumpers when the string creep has slowed at a reasonable rate. Right now it's 1 1/8" gap between string and bumpers. It would hardly ever touch bumpers when fired. That's why I am ...

Re: 405 brace height?
Shoot it until it stretches  X2 how far is the string from the bumpers 1 1/8". On my other crossbows I keep it at 1/8". My concern is cocking. The way i see it tips of the limbs would have to travel further back in order to engage latches. Technically it's the same as making rail lo...
