I wouldn't hesitate to take that shot with my compound, because I know I am more than capable of making that shot count, however I would probably risk losing the shot and attempt a grunt call if I were holding my crossbow, until he got closer. I just don't have the confidence I can make that kind of...

True. Many articles have been written on the composition of deer's eyes and it's structure that disagree on many things such as if deer see in color or not. What is in agreement though with most of the scientific analysis is that deer do see in the blue spectrum of light(uv end). Even Humans have di...

I use 2 white and 1 light grey feathers in my vertical rigs. I believe white fletching is the best for seeing shot placement, seeing evidence of a good hit from afar(blood) and the most visible 99% of the time. I suppose that 1 brite colored fletching would be a bit better for snow conditions, but w...

Now that's about as funny as it gets. Murphy's Law has plagued me for years while bowhunting, but that probably tops the chart for the funniest. Once I was arriving for a 2 week hunt and my parents picked me up from the airport. As we were getting out my ex-wife was taking my bow from the car, I wat...

Horton Bolt Weights
Can someone tell me the actual weights of the Horton Carbon strike MX? I have been told 478grns (including 100 grn point) but the website says less than this for camo or regular. I am looking for a way to obtain a 300fps trajectory to match the scope's reticles even though the bow I bought shoots a ...

I grew up and still hunt near where Ten Point Crossbows are made in Suffield, this was my pro shop for many years. I have heard numerous converstaions about the 1/2 moon knock vs flat nock discussion there and the difference in crossbows. From what I have heard essentially excalibur as well as ten p...

Look at the photo again. Notice the tails on the aluminum shafts are hanging low... yet the carbons look straight. Chances are the aluminum arrows( I presume 2219s) are exitting the bow tail low and steering upward, this is also confirmed by the statement that your bow was sighted in already. Someth...

After seeing this topic of the forum awhile back,I took my half moons to the local shop and had the guys cut just the bumps if you will, off with their arrow saw.Never had a problem. Wow...that doesn't sound like it would promote accuracy..even with the squarest cutoff saw/jig, I am certain there is...
