Re: Strange thing happened with Dead Zone
This method I find works best for me, and 90% of rifle hunters(it's printed on the side of every single box of ammo on the shelf), because it eliminates and guess work. When you get to you stand for the day, you find your maximum range, say 35 yards. From there back you know if a deer walks into tha...

Re: Strange thing happened with Dead Zone
I know I will be happy with it. The Nikon is on its way. Regarding the “zero and hold”, I want to try that this summer and see how my instincts are for holding above the target. Kind of like using a vertical bow without sights. It will be fun. At reasonable hunting distances, you don't need to hold...

Re: Strange thing happened with Dead Zone
Boy, now that I figured some of this out, I almost want to cancel my order on the Nikon and just use low (clear) power for my 20 yard bear shot. (Scope holds zero fine.) I know I would love the Nikon. But, if I have the same scope sighted in the same as my sons and I’m coaching them through a shot ...

Re: Changing bolts
X bow I go I really recommend each bow of varying rail length have its own set of bolts and the length with a broad head should reach the back side of the stirrup but not past it , I am ashamed to admit this but one time with an Equinox I went to decock it after hunting and I did not remove the bol...

OT: Canoe Score!
Been loosely looking for a canoe for back woods shield swamp moose hunting. Last fall I picked up a well used square stern Scott "Mini-freighter" 14' fiberglass. Turns out it needs a fair bit of fiberglass work, and knowing myself... This project is going to take more time that I have alot...

I have 3 Nikon Bolts. You will be happy with them. They are also ultra light at 11 oz.

Re: Changing bolts
As long as your foot can't fit in the stirrup with an arrow loaded, on both bows, the length will work.

Re: Crossbones scope
That's true most people do just stick with the stock glass. We are on the forum are the obsessed ones l assume. Crossbow is a growing sport however (mainly taking others away from regular archery) . In the real world today a company has to sell a million units to be a successful venture. Exactly, t...

Re: Crossbones scope
Leupold Crossbones, discontinued. Vortex XBR, discontinued, Zeiss XB75, discontinued. There HAS to be a market for a premium crossbow scope. Only “better” quality crossbow scope out The is Nikon. It’s decent but no speed ring. We had a conversation with the Zeiss rep at ATA , the Zeiss xb75 sales n...

315 is a great bow! Congrats. Keep it simple and go reds or DM bumpers. No need for anything else imho

Re: Do REDS make a diff under 340fps?
trying to tell you that, but you are coming up with reasons to not agree. So there's not much more help I can offer you. Perhaps a custom string at any brace height you choose would be a better choice for you.
As I mentioned, good luck.

Re: Do REDS make a diff under 340fps?
I presented facts too. But certainly it takes longer for the string to reach the point where it needs adjustment when you start so far over factory recommendations on the high end. It could take years to reach my selected height. So NO, the string ain’t stretching slower, and it ain’t taking longer...

I'm just presenting you with the facts. How you choose to interpret them is just fine with me.
