Re: How do you keep your feet warm?

The best way I have found is to wear light socks and tennis shoes into the stand or blind. If it’s too muddy or snow is on the ground I will wear my waterproof boots. Once in the stand or blind I change into heavy dry socks and my Arctic Shield boot blankets and heated insoles. This has always worke...

Re: Swamp Buck Down

I know you put a lot of time and planning into hunting the swamp. It paid off! Some smart packing strategy there! Congratulations! The hard work made the hunt more satisfying. I was happy to see my scouting finds were on target. This secluded little wood lot is heavily traveled by the deer. Bill On...

Swamp Buck Down

He came out of the corn field and was about 20 yards from me. Had to do a quartering shot on him. Arrow was found alongside the buck unbroken but had a torn fletching. Got both lungs but he still ran about 100 yards or so. Had an excellent blood trial. Walked right to him. https://i.imgur.com/OUTgfT...

Company’s Gone

The last of my Thanksgiving company left this morning. Had great time with everyone but now it’s time to go hunting. Plan to be in my tree around 5am in the morning. High of 47 deg F tomorrow and sunny. Low of 31 deg F tonight. Good hunting weather. Really love family time doing the holidays but hav...

Re: Deer Pockets

That’s correct. I just wish they would choose a spot closer to the truck.

Re: Deer Pockets

These deer prefer the back corners of the wood lots that border the crop fields. Seem to really like it if bordered by water on at least one side.

Re: Deer Pockets

That is a pretty slick set up you have their. Has worked well for several years. I haul the deer out underneath the sled with all my gear packed in the sled. Easy to pull if you can avoid logs and holes. Once I was out on the road and the fields it worked very well. To get the deer to the cart I us...

Re: Deer Pockets

Here is a picture of the Sherpa cart kit installed on my Summit Viper. https://i.imgur.com/tMfpozZ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Q0eGtAg.jpg The kit attaches to the Viper with four straps. Only takes a few minutes and the stand is ready for the tree. They came with the kit and do not loosen up in use. The...
