Re: Just for fun
You caught my interest so I did the Google thing and found: "The furthest distance shot with any bow is 2,047 yards (1,871.84m). (*Note- 1 mile = 1760 yds*) This was shot by the late Harry Drake in 1988 using a crossbow. The furthest with a hand-held — and pulled — bow is 1,336 yds 1' 3" (...

After lunch today I went to get some flip up scope covers for my 380 and came home with a new Micro 335 Xtra.

Re: Tax Season
Ran out of time to shoot as much as I wanted to, but I'm quite happy with the scope. Shot out as far as 60 yards http://i67.tinypic.com/2yotsba.jpg The final couple of shots where at 47.5 yards to test the 2.5 yard increments. The pic is of a the last shot at 47.5 yards. http://i63.tinypic.com/bim5a...

Re: Tax Season
I have not been out shooting with the new scope yet :( , heading to the range this afternoon to get it all lined up/leveled up :D . The installation did not noticeably change the balance of the 380. It is in that 'right' spot when I shoulder the bow. I like the view it is bright, clear and crisp. Th...

Re: Hunting range with 300-310fps velocities?
And now for some math  Sound (travelling at approx. 1126 fps) of a bow releasing the arrow, gets to the twitchy 50 yard target in approx. 0.133 sec. An arrow traveling at 310 fps has only traveled about 13.8 yards in that 0.133 sec. and arrives at the twitchy target in 0.484 seconds. That give...

Re: Scope speed ring
I've been mulling over exactly the same questions for a couple of weeks now. I've looked at the Xbow scope options from Hawk, Leupold, Nikon, Vortex and Ziess. Research had me leaning towards the Leupold Crossbones or the Ziess XB75. I prefer the looks of the Ziess reticle with the actual yardages m...

Re: Arrow smithing lessons
Saturday was a very good day, made it through Toronto and back home again :D , learned a bunch on making arrows, shot some Xbows I've never handled before, seen/handled some Xbows I've only seen online. Got home just after midnight all jacked from the drive, and keen to shoot some arrows. I had ever...

Re: Impression on the Bulldog at Boo's place
Awesome bow, the looks, feel and balance where all there. Was easier to cock that the M405, but both are a little much for me.
