Question for Ontario Hunters...

I'm reading the lengthy regulations on moose hunting in Ontario. The regulations state that the "draw length" must be at least 11". Is the "draw length" their referring to the powerstroke? If so, then I'm screwed :( . My tenpoint only has a 9.75" powerstroke. I could us...

If you wish to stick to compound crossbows, may I suggest a Tenpoint Titan. It's Tenpoint's entry level bow. It does not have the speed rating (280) that the Revolution has, but I hope you're not basing your purchase on just advertised speed. The package (scope, quiver) retails for about $580.00, wi...

Not to offend anyone But "1139 CE --- Pope Innocent II condemns and forbids the use of the crossbow by Christians against Christians by saying they are "deathly and hateful to God and unfit to be used among Christians." Read carefully, Christian vs. Christian. Must of did too good of ...

If you hit something hard...

If you smack your carbon bolt into something hard, first inspect for any cracks. If no cracks, retire that arrow to target/stump shooting only. I made the mistake of reusing a carbon arrow after it hit the target frame for hunting. What I did not know is that the insert was pushed slightly into the ...

Wabi-At the speeds these crossbows generate, I could see why there is a need for a good amount of helical. Would feather fletching cancel out any contact with the track?

I've looked at the TenPoint line and that "dinky" Elite Lite is a very nice bow. Enjoy... I definitely enjoy everything about that bow and just can't shutup about it. :P My only gripe is the expenditure. But I needed a bow that would fit me, I couldn't just look at the speed ratings. I ac...

That 313 fps is "honking on' with a 2219 XX75 that weighs 420 Grains Serious KE at 91.4 fp.. If you are shooting fixed blade broadheads you need some helical..How much depends on the broadhead. I don't think helical will give you in problems in the track unless it is very severe. Alas, I'm sho...

Tenpoint Rules!!! (Excalibur Too..)

Sorry, guys couldn't help myself. I do have a fairly basic question though. I noticed that my bolts are straight fletched. Now, how in the world do you get good broadhead flight with straight fletch? Or does one need to rip the vanes off and refletch with some offset? Wouldn't that hit the track on ...

Hi Everyone...

The obligatory here I am and why post. I've bowhunted (compound) for 4 years-2 deer. This year, for many reasons, I decided to switch to a crossbow. I'm glad to see that there is forum dedicated to crossbow hunting. I do not dare post x-bow questions on the archery forums I belong to. I hope ...
