We've seen deer get a hole ripped in them from a hog tusk, but that is usually at a feeder. Strange indeed!

welcome to the forum! One advantage of the Excalibur's is the ability to fix a string issue in the field. We traveled in North Texas last weekend and saw a buck with a doe in daylight - 3X (different places). Down south where I am the bucks are still in bachelor groups.....

Money matters to me. I would get the less expensive crossbow and use the difference to buy better optics or more bolts and broadheads. The older model will do everything the Grizzly will do if you don't mind a few inches of extra width. Same lifetime warranty.
