Re: Fletching help
I posted this a while back but this might be helpful: Another member asked for a thread on arrow building in another post so here is a start. I really enjoy assembling my own arrows, and it isn't hard. Here are the resources I used to help me get started: Arrow building part 1: http://www.bowhunting...

Re: helical or offset
I fletch my arrows with a Arizona EZ Fletch using 4 degree right offset. I like the right offset as it is spinning the arrow in the same direction as you tighten the broadhead.
I expect that I am in the minority but I am shooting an older, slower, and more forgiving crossbow.

Agreed.F250-2 wrote:I don't care what animal you shot at ! Shoot an animal through the guts on purpose , with a non lethal arrow point ? ON PURPOSE ?!?! SICK !!!
Regardless of the animal there is no need to purposely inflict suffering. Shameful.

Re: DANNY MILLER STRINGER
How does Danny's stringer differ from Excalibur's? Just curious. The Excalibur one I have is shaped like the logo. Mine is black. Stay away from the old blue ones. They had a tendency to let go at the worst possible moment. Th S was a long time ago now. I doubt that there are any old blue ones arou...

6 better to have it and not need it than to need itand not have it as they say. Arrows don't weight much.

Re: why 200 lbs limit in nys on crossbows
Nice to see another member from Western Mass.
Not many remember the old Connecticut crossbow regs. I remember going before the board at Session Woods to get my first crossbow permit in Connecticut. I'm glad that they stopped all that nonsense.

Re: why 200 lbs limit in nys on crossbows
I would look no farther the state archery group. They don't like crossbow anyway you look at them.  The New York Bowhunters is vehemently anti-crossbow and fights it at every turn. They don't want crossbows during "their" archery season. Bob New York Bowhunters, Inc. is; A...

Re: What Sling Is On Your Xbow Show Pics
I am currently using a Cabelas crossbow sling mounted on a side mounted sling stud. This was my first season using it. It takes a little tinkering to get it adjusted right. The side sling mount isn't an original idea. IIRC it was Boo's or Moons over on AT. Not sure which. http://www.archerytalk.com/...

Re: spoiled meat
I'll try to keep this short. My nephew shot a nice buck on Thursday last week around 4:30 pm. We collected the buck on Friday morning around 9:30 am the temperature throughout the night was 2 to 5 degrees Celsius. We gutted it when we collected it. After hanging the deer for just over a week, we bu...

20" GT Laser II 110G front insert 2" Bhoning Blazers 125g broadhead; NAP Spitfire This combination produces a 424g arrow that has consistently demonstrated same hole accuracy at 40 yards, from a rest, regardless of broadhead. This combination was recommended to me for my Exocet by Dan (Aws...
