Re: O/T Masters of the Barebow

I too had those three volumes when they were new. I gave them to other trad bow club members after I watched them. I found Volume 3 to be the most helpful. The best advice I can give regarding shooting traditional archery is—as with canoeing/kayaking, shot putting, and many other physical endeavors—...

Re: Button Head Screw Size.

Pretty sure they are 10-32’s (ie a fine-thread No. 10 screw).

As someone else said, getting them from Excalibur would be preferable, but any fastener store or even an Ace or Truevalue Hardware store will carry them.

Re: RINEHART R100 SHOOT 8/29-8/30 ROBBINSVILLE, T.P.R.N.J.

Wow, that’s the first time I’ve heard crossbows allowed at one of these archery shoots! Down here a crossbow shooter is about as welcome at an archery shoot as a Wiccan at a Baptist Revival. It would be great to attend; if I lived within a couple hours drive of Robbinsville, NJ I would definitely be...

Re: Patterned

I hunt a small 5-acre woodlot one week every year in the exurbs of a city in Ohio. My situation is not quite as bad as yours sounds, but I encounter the same problem. What’s worked for me is to only hunt it during the chasing phase of the rut. During that time I can get a parade of testosterone-blin...

Unfortunately I can’t really see them because the dang pop-up screen obscures 80% of the webpage, and there’s no way to make it go away.

Re: Washing camo

I use a scoop of TSP (trisodium phosphate) and a scoop of baking soda.

The TSP is cheap and odorless, and good at removing oils (like human sweat oils), and the baking soda deodorizes.

Were you using a two-blade broadhead?

I’ve had that happen with two-blade heads, but never 3 or 4-blade heads.

Re: Med body, small rack 8, bizarre twist - literally

Like Doemaster said, they can move faster than Keneau Reeves in the Matrix. I once shot a doe at a mere 8 yards with my Exocet. She ran maybe 60-70 and piled up within sight. Congratulating myself on a perfect double-lung shot, I walked over to her—only to find that the arrow had sliced through the ...

Re: Dental band breakdowns

Those are latex dental rings. Latex is easily degraded by chemicals (like if you spray your broadheads with WD40), ozone (are you using one of those Ozonics odor killers?), and UV (sunlight). A more durable alternative would be silicone dental rings. You can buy a pack of them on Amazon for $9 in an...
