I’ve used the Badlands Superday pack for about five seasons now. It’s pretty good for carrying your xbow or rifle.

Re: The Best Advice you've been given?
When I first got into deer hunting, I was like the proverbial fashionista in a clothing store when it came to camo! I was always looking for that “perfect” camo pattern that would endow me with Harry Potters Cloak of Invisibility. I eventually learned that what Fred Bear said was right: “The best ca...

Re: Which Cooler?
I’ve never heard of Big Frig coolers. Thanks for bringing them to our attention! One trick I’ve done to improve the performance of lower-end coolers is to lay a generous bead of silicone around the lip of the cooler, then smear some plain old unscented vasoline on the mating surface of the lid. Clos...

Wow, that degree of snow, ice, and cold is simply unimaginable!

Re: 150 and 175 Tooth of the Arrow comparison
I just bought two 3-packs of the 175-grain, along with the sharpener a couple weeks ago. They only cost a few bucks more than you run-of-the-mill heads, but from the torture-test videos I’ve seen on YouTube they’re much more durable. 150-175-grain broadheads are kind of rare, but it’s the sweet spot...

Re: Snow, snow, snow!!
No snow so far.... But is was 24 the other day and we had sleet and a little ice mixture. Roads never got slick. No problems. Unlike this time last year!! Our supply chain is still a mess because if this time last year. Who knew Texas made ALL the plastic chemicals. Oh yeah, pretty much all t...

You got lucky. My Exocet (circa 2000) trigger was pretty much on the bad side of mediocre, until I sent it to Danny Miller to be reworked.

Re: Common sense scents?
I would imagine that most of the odour coming from a hunter comes from your head and breath. How do you guys control it? I believe this to be true. I gargle Listerine and use a tongue scraper for my breath. For my head, I put on a disposable shower cap on, under my hat. I’ve found this works extrem...

Re: Excalibur Equinox Losing it’s touch
Do a complete bolt/fastener check. If that doesn’t uncover anything, try another scope I might add, when preforming a fastener check remove the stock (2 screws) and check the two screws securing the trigger unit to mainframe. When checking POI start at 10 to 15 feet before moving out. I had that pr...

Re: Insert glue survey
Gorilla glue blue top. New bottle every time. I recently picked up some green top in smaller tubes to try, it's the same, just gel formula That has to get expensive. I have been using the same bottle of Gorilla Blue Top glue for several years now and have not had any inserts pull or vanes come loos...

Re: Game changers for hunting
Face mask for sure, but as someone else said, I can’t stand to have it up against my face. Too claustrophobic. What I do is buy a wide-brimmed hat, then sew camo mesh around the outside of the rim, so it’s away from my face. Also leave the mesh long, so mosquitoes can’t fly up underneath it. https:/...

Re: Dr. Ed Ashby
What’s frustrating is the archery industry has settled on 100-grain broadheads as the norm. Anything 150 grains and over is sparse. Consequently, one ends up putting in heavy inserts. I’d much rather put that weight into a better broadhead! Ferrule made of steel instead of weenie aluminum, thicker b...

Re: Ticks, ticks ticks,
Worst I’ve ever seen ticks is North Dakota. I was camping there in mid-summer, and could see them crawling all over the outside of my tent, looking for a way in. I slathered myself with 100% DEET, which I hated to do before laying on my sleeping bag, plus it was a hot, sticky night, but I rubbed tha...
