Re: Excal Speed vs; arrow weight?

The older wide models are real close to 5 gr= 1 fps. The newer ones are more like 3 gr = 1 fps.

Re: Limb ratings.

Sorry I created a headache here... I understand that it is only used to match limbs with equal deflection ans honestly thats all I am really concerned with. As long as these crossbows are as accurate as they are I have no complaints. Not your fault, Ron, this comes up two or three times a year........

Re: Limb ratings.

They don't mean much as far as poundage goes. When I toured the factory in '12, there were nine numbers from 1 to 9. These were on the wider models.

There wasn't 2 # diff in them......

Re: Taking apart Excalibur crossbows

Here's a tip........If you loc-tite your stock-to-rail screws, chase the threads w/ a steel nut prior to assembling your xbow.

The old loc-tite build up doesn't go well w/ rail threaded holes.....

Re: Anyone with experience with Saunders Bludgeon Heads?

I've tried quite a few small game heads, these were my favorites. I was shooting squirrels w/ a 225# Emax, not a good combo, lol. I have LOTS of rocks, fwiw.

Re: Easton bolts tips dont thread all the way through

If you want to add weight, skip the 5 gr washers and just go up 25 gr on your points. You won't notice any diff in poi out to 30 yds between 100gr and 125 gr's..........

If and/or when you shoot in your 2nd string, tie the end loops together w/ a bread tie to preserve your b-height....
