I was using a firebolt. What I meant by "flew better" was how tight the groups were. I have made bad shots with montecs, wasp, slick tricks, american sonic, and boltcutters:( I am not trashing the slick tricks. They are very well made. I think I must have moved right before pulling the tri...

bad day with the block

I went out to test the slick trick and boltcutter broadheads that I just bought. I have been using "The block" broadhead target. I made a bad shot with one of the boltcutter broadheads and the arrow lodged in the bag target I had behind it. Normally they just pass right through the bag tar...

sonic pro broadhead:(

I thought I would give these heads a fair chance. I shot them into a foam target for x-bows and some of the blades were left inside the target when I pulled the arrow out. They flew really well and penetration was excellent. At 10 dollars a head, I will never buy these again. Has anyone else had thi...

crossbows during muzzleloader season

It seems like there are plenty who want to keep crossbows out of archery season. Has anyone seen or heard of them being allowed in any muzzleloader seasons? I was watching a show today with muzzleloaders and noticed how well those primitive weapons are grouping at long ranges now days.

150 grain field tip to match boltcutter broadhead

I have decided to try the new excal boltcutter broadheads. I have had no trouble finding the broadhead. I can't find any 150 grain field points anywhere. Anyone know where to get them?

montec 125 versus 100grain.

I was curious to know if anyone has seen that the slightly wider 125 gr G5 montec flys any different than the 100 grain as far as accuracy and groups are concerned? I am trying to figure out which grain to shoot. I hunt primarily pigs and deer for now. I am shooting firebolts and wanted to know how ...

I was impressed with the buffalo hunt. I was surprised by how fast that thing went down. Did they have to get a helicopter in to get him out.

I bought the video and am very pleased. The footage was really good. Every time I see those excal x-bows in action I am impressed by the speed and accuracy. I was kinda surprised to see how often they used a relatively light bolt like the firebolt. I am pretty new to this and that answers some of my...

unstringing equinox mishap:(

I have read several posts that recommend unstringing the X-bow between use. I decided to do this to relax the limbs. I used the stringing device and the cocking aid to cock the crossbow and remove the string. All went well up until this point. I put my hands around the string, pulled back and pulled...

Results from wild pig shot placement question

Dudes, I wanted to say thanks for those that helped with the best place to shoot a wild hog question. Check out the results. This was the fist time my brother had ever hunted anything let alone with a crossbow. He did well, and didn't let buck fever make him miss. Initially I was unsure of how thing...
