Re: What ever happened to the North American Hunting Club?

As a kid I started getting Field and Stream mostly to read The Last Laugh with Patrick F McManus. When he switched to Outdoor Life, I did too. Loved his articles and even have 4 or 5 of his books. "A Fine and Pleasant Misery" is autographed, I think.

Re: What ever happened to the North American Hunting Club?

I was a life member too. Even tested some equipment a time or 2, but I don't even remember what it was. Haha. I liked the mag and probably have the jacket somewhere. Me too!!  I tested a knife and if I remember correctly, a sleeping bag. Still got the knife, and the Life Member leather c...

Re: Limb Dampeners

If you don't lose speed, then you have them up where the limb isn't moving much. Simple physics. But do they do much dampening at that point? As I've said on here many times my approach is to not add things that cost me speed with no return ( limb dampeners, string silecers, etc etc). A heavy arrow ...

Re: Shot my 1 1/4" VPA Solid 3 Blades This Weekend

I shot a few deer last year with 2 blades. ANd of course every blood trail is different but............. First was with a Magnus 150gr double bevel. Double lung and she didn't go far, but not too much blood. Actually very little. I was on the ground. My hunting buddy used the same BH but the one wit...

Re: Shot my 1 1/4" VPA Solid 3 Blades This Weekend

As short as the arrows are for a Micro, the spine isn't that big of a deal, as you found out. That arrow is short enough to kill most of the "flex". But trying each vane is an excellent idea!! If someone has a short arrow that is a "flier", I suggest trying what Keith ...

Re: What weight for BH for matrix 380?

I go with a Zombie Slayer arrow short enough to keep the BH inside the stirrup
Add a 110gr brass insert , Blazer vanes and a Lumenok
Then add a 200gr fixed blade BH.

Be a pretty good setup for most things in North America.

Shot my 1 1/4" VPA Solid 3 Blades This Weekend

I was able to get out and sight in one of my bows this weekend. I started dorking around with bare shafts and such to find the dynamic spine and quickly abandoned that idea (again) as it doesn't make much difference for me. I'm using up some older arrows .....16" Zombies, with a 92gr insert, Bl...

Re: Change of the rules this year

It might work out really well for you Joe. Once the orange army invades, maybe the deer will flock to that property because there are no guns....I'd be super stealthy all season and try not to spook any deer just for that reason. They will still be all jittery for sure, but hopefully you'll get to s...

That's no fun at all! You know the Charger is ambidextrous. Just putting it out there Keith buddy!
That's right! I was wondering if I could switch it around somehow....forgot about this feature. Nice. That'll do quite well.

OT-Broke my Arm...Trad bow season gonna be off to a slow start

I wish I had a better story but.....I was hanging curtain rods for my wife and well dang it...the ladder is ALL the way in the garage. And these handy bar stools are right here. Was standing on one hanging the last rod until I wasn't. Broke my right arm down by the wrist. Thankfully it's not displac...
