Yep. Loctite 242 medium strength thread locker is the right choice. Works great.

Re: Realy falling in love with my Exocet
You should be! That is a really fine example of the original concept bow that got the company to where it is today. Not forgetting where you came from, but also moving forward. The Excocet fills that space perfectly! Mine is a 1997 model. Love it. Shoots great. Never had a deer go anywhere but DOWN!...

Sorry mate, but that is a composite stock and is factory original. No longer produced as of 2000-2001.flightattendant100 wrote:That bow has a wood stock. Did the older carved tip Exocets?

Re: Older Exocet - HELP!
Iron Noggin', that is a vintage pre-2001 Exocet. As stated previously, it is a 165 pounder that uses Dacron strings. Shoots Easton XX-75 Aluminum arrows (bolts) at a blistering 270 feet per second. As stated previously "will kill anything". How do I know, you ask? Well let me tell ya' some...

52. Some aches and pains. Nothing I can't handle. Have been using my company benefits plan to access massage therapy and acupuncture. Both work very well for me and I recommend them to all of you. Biggest piss-off is my change in eyesight. Have to wear glasses, and it affects my pistol/handgun shoot...

It has gone up in price to $46.17. Tax included. Every year brings a dollar more. At what point do you say F&*% it?

Re: Why would anyone want a compound?
I own a Bear Black Bear compound bow and enjoy the feeling of releasing the arrow by my own hand, and into the vitals of my intended target. I also own an Excalibur Exocet, and enjoy shooting it when the temperatures drop and movement is more difficult. Each has it's merits and downfalls given the s...

Re: New to me Exocet 165
Hi. I bought my Exocet in 1997, so it is likely the same bow you describe. I have the original catalogue from that time. The specifications for the Exocet are as follows: Velocity 270 fps. Draw weight 165 lbs. Power stroke is 15 inches. Mass Weight is 6.1 lbs. Overall length is 38 inches. Arrow leng...

Nicely done. Thanks for sharing. Something I might do in the future as making my own strings appeals to the DIY'er within me.

Re: just booked bear hunt!!!
Hi. You should do well there. I have seen hunting shows up here in the "Great White North" that have featured New Brunswick for Spring bear hunts. The Spring hunt was removed in Ontario over ten years ago. Anyway, Fall in Canada is a great time of year. May you have a great hunt, take a ni...

Re: Boo Trigger
What's up with this Boo Trigger? Are you attempting to bring out an aftermarket crossbow trigger assembly to replace the one supplied in all of Excalibur's crossbows? Please explain what it is you are trying to do. Thanks.

Hi. For any residents of Ontario, you have to read Ontario Out of Doors. From that go to Outdoor Canada. If you are a member of the National Firearms Association (you should be), you'll get Canada's Western Sportsmen automatically. I also subscribe to Outdoor Life and Field and Stream. There are a l...

Re: How Can I Identify What Model I Have?
You got yourself one of the original 3 that commercially got Excalibur established. I recommend that you do not sell that bow. Unless you sell it to me! Keep it and target shoot/hunt with it. I have a 1997 model Exocet and love it. Killed several deer and some wild boars with it. The carved tipped l...
