Re: Opening day
Whoever thought of putting shoulder straps on a jock strap will probably end up being a multi-millionaire, it's too bright, Is it available in camo?

Re: Restringing aid slipping.
Instead of using just a simple overhand knot on the stringing aid, you could try using a figure 8 knot.

Re: Any new hunting products?
+2 on the muff, I've been using one with disposable handwarmers in it for quite a while, definitely one of the best things that I ever added to my cold weather hunting gear.

Re: The "Killing Tree"
Similar thing happened to my gun stand, a big heavy branch came straight out from a huge pine near the base of a ridge that had what looked like another pine growing straight up at the end of it, there was another big old branch that broke off and formed like a saddle to sit on and then rest my feet...

I'm 75 and hunt with a Matrix 380, I have 2 of them, I would stick with an Excalibur! Find an Excalibur you like, the odds are if something were to happen to it you wouldn't be out of commission for a couple of weeks or more like the Ravin owner. I would also consider keeping the Equinox, that way y...

Re: Smoke em!
Hope they turn out well for you. We fish for American Shad in a local river, the old saying is to nail them to an oak plank, cook them. then throw the fish away and eat the plank! One day I ran into a guy who said to bring him some, and that he smokes them and that they are delicious, ok, why not, a...

I have a "supply" of Johnson Sabra spin cast reels that were, and still are, my go to reels for fishing small trout streams, I mount them on a Shakespear Wonder rod, and a South Bend Oren-O-Matic on a Shakespear wonder rod fly rod, I also have a 16 ga. model 37 Ithaca that I started huntin...

Re: Wild Game Cooking
WOW, that is one heck of a set up your friend has there! At one time we had the use of a butcher shop on a farm when a buddy married the farmer's daughter, I don't think he had a smoker though, if he did we didn't use it, one thing I found interesting is the hot and cold water bath after smoking. Ev...

Re: O/T 410 Turkey Gun
Just had to look! In regard to the (ouch) on the price of .410 TSS shells, they are "CHEAP" compared to the TSS 12ga. 3 1/2" mag! :wtf:  Getting to the point, (if you're old  ), where a box of ammo now costs almost as much or more than you paid for the gun. :eusa-doh:

Re: O/T 410 Turkey Gun
A couple years ago I had a Tom facing me, in full strut. at exactly 40 yds., I didn't get it. I also have an 870 super mag., with a red dot scope, that I patterned, I bought it just for turkey hunting and it has never impressed me! On paper it looks great, but when it comes to killing turkey's, I di...
