Re: O/t klamath johnboat

Look at weldcraft, not a 10' but they have a 12' with a 42" bottom and a .080 hull that's available with a transom for either a long or short shaft motor. A 12' boat isn't that big, might take a look at that boat, it's "ALMOST" what you want and may be as close as you can get when it ...

Re: O/t klamath johnboat

OK, can't edit and add to last post! Just threw this out on the forum I mentioned, see what anyone has to say. Was just thinking  , if you are willing to pay for a Klamath, would it be possible for them to put an even heavier bottom on the boat, lets just say .100 ? You could ask them that. I ...

Re: O/t klamath johnboat

I think you are going to have a problem finding a rugged Jon boat that size, I'm sure someone would be willing to make one but it would probably be very expensive! Rockproof boats is a custom builder N of Harrisburg in Marysville, might give them a call but I think they are only interested in buildi...

Re: O/t klamath johnboat

Alumacraft makes a .053 hull also. I would think that going from .053 to .063 isn't going to make much of a difference. I have 2 Tracker GRIZZLY's that are .100 and they can be tore up. You're only talking a little Jon boat, find a good used one on CL for cheap and sell it for scrap when it gets rea...

Re: Is anyone deer hunting at 100+ yards?

Big question is can one actually shoot accurately to do it. Well I will practice targets to see how hard it is to shoot that range anyway, it will be fun and educational. Remember, targets don't move, a game animal may, and then there may also be wind deflection. I would wait until they come out wi...

Re: questions about a new scope

For those who have posted here who are unhappy with their XB 30's and would prefer a Leupold Crossbones I have a very nice one I'll trade you for that "crappy old Hawke XB30 PRO." I have 2 Leupold spotting scopes, a set of Gold Ring 8x42 binos. and 8 rifles set up with VX II & ...

Re: Lectured about energy .....

Probably that same guy thinks you need a .338 RUM to shoot a deer! Back in the recurve days, most guys shot 50-60 lb bows, some around 45lb, and some at 70lb+. (you need to be old to remember that) LOL! You are doing fine, take his "opinion" with a grain of salt and just keep doing what yo...

Re: I got my deer today vertical

Congratulations on getting a deer, and a big thumbs up on sharing it with the unfortunate people who lost their homes and are now in the tent city. I'm sure your generosity will be much appreciated and will be remembered by the people there. Happy thanksgiving to you and the people that get to share...

Re: Safety on or off?

As soon as the bow is cocked I engage the safety, by putting an arrow in and then engaging the safety bad things could possibly happen if somehow the bow accidentally fired with your hand in front of the string while loading the arrow with the safety off!

Looks good, I like the color scheme also. Just got one back from my fishing buddy who is also a taxidermist, he only bleached it but I can't complain, he did it for free! Hummm, might need to show him a pic. of yours and tell him how much I like it, like hint!

Darn! Dicks just had a 1 hr. 40% off 1 item sale with a max. of $50 off and free shipping. You could have got that scope for $100.
I grabbed a pack of Rage crossbow 125's for $25.43 including Pa tax, even though some on here would say they aren't even worth that!
