I haven't shot my Exomax from my tree stand yet? I've heard you still hold as if it was horizontal. Is this correct?

Re: Boat Access Only
Well I made it out there and back ok. Checked my trail cameras and only had a small 4 point buck and several does. It was a great day, sunny and in the high 60's. Cleared an area under a big cedar tree at the base of a long running hill. Also found a good tree for my climbing tree stand if I want to...

Boat Access Only
How many of you have to use a boat to get to your hunt area? I have an excellent spot on the river that is about a 20 minute ride from the boat ramp. Having to use the boat is kinda of a pain especially in cold weather. A couple of years ago my buddy and I did it in December when it was in the low 2...

Re: Light for tracking in the dark
I use the 18650 recharagable batteries and just recently purchased a Fenix 3400mah battery to try. Be careful buying eBay batteries! Some do not have protection circuits built in and can be dangerous! I would recommend buying from the dealer that you get the light from. The Covoy S2 I recommended h...

Re: best ground blind for crossbows deer hunting
I use an Ameristep Doghouse. Light enough to pack in, easy to set up and take down but plenty big enough for one hunter with a crossbow. My Exomax fit's in mine fine. I use a camera tripod with a piece of thick foam rubber glued on top of it for a bow rest. The head on the camera tripod pivots very ...

Re: Light for tracking in the dark
I got one of these. It uses a 18650 battery like a lot of the Vaping people use in their electronic cigarettes. https://www.fasttech.com/p/1195010 It is unbelievable bright and tough. From my back door to the fence across the backyard is 50 feet. From the door the S2 lights the fence up light daylig...

Re: View from Doghouse Blind
Good luck to ya. I've only used the Montana decoys and haven't seen one of those inflatable deals, I'm kinda surprised! It actually looks really good. Paul I have the Miss November and Mr. October decoys. http://www.amazon.com/Tinks-Miss-November-Doe-Decoy/dp/B003ITDO6M/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=sporting-...

Re: View from Doghouse Blind
Doghouses rock . I have my best luck wen i brush em in with branches n anything u can find I do that to. It really helps I think. Last year I had a nice 6 point walk up and get within 15 yards or so of the blind. I couldn't shoot because of the brush that has since been cleared. He stood behind a t...

Re: View from Doghouse Blind
It's not been a good spot lately. I have lot's of pics over 3 years of bucks and does here. Raining today and a cold front coming in this weekend so maybe they will start moving.

Today's Hunt
Got up at 3AM. Hit the road by 3:30AM. Was all set up and sitting down in the Doghouse blind by 5:30AM. Sat in the ground blind until 2:00PM. Set up one of my Tink's Inflatable deer decoys as well. It looked pretty good and stayed inflated. Saw one squirrel and a Blue Jay. A little discouraged but c...

Re: OT - crying my eyes out
My condolences. It tough I know. I had to put our old cat down a couple of years ago. I don't care for cats but she was a good old gal. It surprised me how emotional I got. The vet's aide calmed me down some. My daughter the vet gave me specific instructions on how it had to be done including me hol...

Confusing Hunt Area
I hunt a rather narrow strip of Public Land with a large lake on one side and private land on the other. It is about 1/2 mile wide at it's widest point and is 1 mile long. Down the middle of it is a Gas Pipe Line right-a-way. For the 3 years I have had cameras out there and have seen several nice bu...
