Re: favorite gun manufacturer

May I pick three? I'm partial to my Browning Citori, my Tikka T3X and an old Ithaca featherlight pump gun I have.

Re: What is this animal?

It looks like a housecat. Could it be closer to the camera than the feeder thus looking larger than it really is?

Re: O/T favorite hunting caliber

In truth, the .30-.30 Winchester has probably killed MORE Deer than all the rest of the calibers combined. However, it is NOT my first choice!! :eusa-snooty: In the deep woods of Maine, or Wisconsin, Minnesota and other states for that matter. A short, lightweight, fast handing firearm is a MUST . ...

Re: Newest project

When I built my house, I had 2 people witch for the best place for a deep well. I also talked to a couple of others that witched for water. All said the same thing, that water runs in veins. So if it were me, I'd have a couple of people who witch for water to tell you where to place your point. Gro...

Re: Acorns

The deer on our farm like to eat the corn kernels and soybean plants in all of the crop fields in the area. When there is a big acorn crop, we see fewer deer in the fields in the early season because they love to eat acorns (one of their natural foods). It has an impact on where I hunt. I'm glad the...

Re: Pro shot or triggertec

What is so bad about the stock triggers that come with Excal bows? I've never shot an aftermarket trigger but I have no trouble hitting the bullseye at hunting ranges (or farther) and I have consistently made lethal shots on deer. Why would I want to spend $150, then go through the procedure of chan...

Re: Very hard turkey year for us here but the fishing is on fire.

The crushed walnuts and the honey nut cheerios both sound good. I'll give them both a try. We're feeding about 25 people at this Sunday's fish fry so I'll go with Andy's fish breading for that. I'll still have plenty of fillets left (it's been a good spring) to try some new combinations. I'll add on...

Re: Very hard turkey year for us here but the fishing is on fire.

Turkey hunting was tough here too! I had two gobblers gobbling in my woods the morning before opening morning but I never saw or heard a gobbler during the season (I only hunted three mornings). Fishing has been good here too! The other evening I went below a nearby spillway and tied on two 1/16 oz ...

Re: USA National Peace Officers Memorial Day.

These people are under appreciated and often under paid. Don't forget the women who serve also (my son is engaged to one). These women share the same risks and responsibilities. All of these people deserve our respect and gratitude.

Thank you AJ for calling this to our attention.

Re: WITH ONLY 1247 DAYS TO GO. PREPARATIONS HAVE BEGUN....

This is going to be life changing in a good way. Now, instead of getting up super early and driving in the dark for a distance, you are going to sleep later in a comfortable bed and get up in just enough time to get to your stand before daylight. You also now have the option to put up permanent stan...

Re: Was one of them great spring days yesterday

Wow! A great time to be alive. Our turkey season opens Monday morning. The weather looks like it's going to be cold - lows in the thirties and highs in the 40s and 50s most of the week with rain most days. The turkeys will still be there but whether they gobble remains to be seen. Fishing will proba...
