Re: Fps range of the leupold crossbones scope ?
Great choice, I love mine. My Cross Bones has power select on ring, for the 380 it is set at 6x which is correct setting for 360fps. Fantastic scope which you don't need to keep your fingers crossed and hope it makes it through the hunt.

Re: matrix 380 scope problem??
Use a thin film of black silicone inside rings prior to mounting scope. Once it sets up scope will not move in rings and this also prevents rings marking your scope.

Re: fletching glue with color?
Try fletch tape, typically used for feathers. It is orange bonds instantly and you will wonder why you ever used glue to start with. I have been using it for years from -20 to +115 never had an issue. Your local archery shop should carry it.

Re: Just Picked up a Leupold Crossbones Scope-2-7x33-REASONA
I use Cross Bones as well, awesome scope. What we really need is Cross Bones with VXR option. Perhaps if we all voice this to Leupold they'll listen, as this would be the ultimate xbow scope.

Re: BH's fer This Season
G5 Striker - cross bow models worked great on my moose this fall and shoot great from my 380 out to 90 yrds. Have not had time to shoot beyond 90, but last 3 shot group I fired at 90yrds (off bench with Caldwell rest) placed all three arrows with Strikers on them in same bunch under 1" - cut tw...

Re: new matrix 380
In all my testing the 18" bolts fly better than 20". I'm using Gt Laser 111 with brass insert and 100gr G5 Striker. Having great luck and bow shoots under 2' groups out to 90yrds!

Re: single dot scope?
I had a Bushnell Halo site on my exomag and had great trouble during bright sunny days seeing dot even when turned up full. They did have a sunscreen you snapped on but it really was pain and always falling off. I have head good things about aimpoint and sunlight.

Re: Heavy arrows for Aus buff
The FMJ Dangerous game shaft cut down is way to go if you don't want solid shaft. Stay away from Those Ashby heads they junk. Doc Ashby has no connection to ABS he just allowed them to use his name (I know the good Doc) now he supports design but made in China crap metal they break. For those referr...

Re: Leupold Crossbones or VX-1 2-7x33mm LR???
Guys that like the quick point of dead centre and don't shoot much past 30 will always prefer the rifle scope reticle over the crossbow reticle. Everyone is different in that matter, but for those that shoot farther you can't beat the Cross Bones unless you want to spend big $$$$ on high end tacticl...

Re: Heavy arrows for Aus buff
Gooday Mate, I have a bunch of Easton FMJ Dangerous game shafts 240 spine that I rigged for Oz buff for my 85lb long bow. Theses shafts are 17gr/in and are the heaviest I have come across without going to a tapered shaft which I do not believe will work in cross bow but have not tried it. Alaska Bow...

Re: 405 Matrix Why Not the Tact-Zone?
As I've stated before, my belief is it is about $$$. If Excal was to say put a Leupold on/in package the $$$ would be that much higher again. Many shoot these things few times a year and big $$$ scope not wanted. For those of us that have seen them fail, the answer is sell without scope which I beli...

Re: Small Game with Matrix 380?
Take a field point of same weight as your broadhead and file or grind tip of it bit flat and go to it! Bound to go through anything you shoot at so I'd look at shoulder hit on a fox to anchor them.

One can buy two Cross Bones for price of VX1 in Canada at least.
