Re: Awaiting my Equinox
Here is another tip. Develope a routine for loading the bow. I use: cock ( with rope ), flip safety, remove rope, raise the bow, load arrow. Try to avoid distractions whilest doing that. Then when ready to shoot, verify the arrow's presence, and verify that YOUR THUMB IS AWAY FROM THE FLIGHT RAIL, f...

Re: Hawke Crossbow Scopes
I have the SR model, in black. The MAP is less expensive and is probably what I should have gotten, but the circles inside the SR are very nice. They illuminate, five shades of green or red each, and the circles reflect a 2" circle at the various yardages. This gives range finding ability to it...

Re: Cat door intruder
Yeah it was.
Over a hundred views of that post, and no one commented on the fact that it had been 'domesticated'.
I hope they are still feeding it.
I'd be feeding corn chops and molasses.

Re: Custom Made Vortex X-Bow Stock (Progress)
I am totally lost on this carver thingy of yours. I can see how it does though. I would like to see any modifications you may have made to the overall shape of your bow, in order to have it be yours. I mean having it adjusted to size here and there. So that your carve is better than the original. Th...

Re: deer wrestling (poll)
It is possible. Wouldn't be easy though, as they do have incredible strength. But if a 250lb buck ran out in front of "Jim" from the old Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, that deer would be going down. That man was bad. I saw him leap from a jeep and grab a zebra and hold it by the tail. He ...

Re: some knucklehead in western australia...
You don't have an idiot problem, nor a government problem, you have a media problem. Didn't they rabble rouse and demonize guns in your country/continent ? I saw video of them cutting the rifles into pieces with a chopsaw. I watched that and read some, and realized that it was ridiculous. Later I he...

Re: Making My Own Stock for My Vortex..
I would want to make sure that the stock was a perfect fit. Cheek, comb, length....
Maybe play around with the Vortex stock stock and see where you would want the new one to be.

Re: bald eagle sighting
Two days after moving down here, one scooped a catfish and ate it in my backyard. I thought it was so cool. Then it became apparent that they are everywhere down here. While I was fishing for bass, an Osprey caught a fish. He started screaming and calling to his mate, who was comming very quickly. I...

Re: new look
I noticed that one of the important parts- 'choosing the right crossbow' doesn't come off very well, it repeats itself over and over. Needs fixed. Skinny and hard to read the forum as well. All the individual postings blend together, and hard to know when one stops and a new one starts. But glad to ...

I purchased the Tree Lounge 12 years ago. The stand works because you really can spend the day in a tree... in comfort. I feel that is key. There are alot of bucks shot between 1100am and 300pm. I felt the climb up and down was solid and secure. It would grip the tree well. Once in place, you ...

Some are great, and some are jerks. Fortunately, the jerks are few and usually in a hurry to get somewhere. I respect the job, and wish we had even more oversight of the resources we all enjoy. I don't like the way some laws can be interpreted one way by one warden and another by another. How does o...

They say baiting leads to the spread of 'wasting disease'. They have banned it down here in Florida in the Wildlife Management areas for this stated reason. Private lands may still have feeders. But if close intimate contact leads to the spread of these terrible maladies, how does a bait station enh...
