Re: Long limb vs. short limb

I had a Micro 355 limb deconstruct while I was holding it, definitely a high energy event. I have a BD400, (now for sale) that developed a big splinter with no drama. Both were covered by warranty and repaired, the Micro sold unfired and the BD400 was repaired with latest generation limbs and is cur...

Re: Mico 335 Nightmare limb spintering

I had a limb on a Micro 355 blow up on me a couple years ago. Mine was more violent than yours and sounded like a rifle going off in my face. :wtf: The limb split length way down the middle leaving 2 half thickness pieces that held together at string and lock down plate. Took 2 years before I dared ...

Re: Hunting platform

Do you get any heavy wind storms out your way? If so it might be a good idea to anchor the platform securely to the ground. A couple years ago out in Ontario I had put out a hub blind and thought that it was well anchored until we got a heavy wind storm and it ended up 10 feet up in a tree torn up p...

Re: A QUERY TO THOSE WITH 3 OR MORE EXCALIBURS

I have never had 3 crossbows at the same time during hunting season. Usually, I start the summer with 2 or 3 and by the season have decided on just 1 favorite and sell the others. This year have a BD400 to keep my Mission MXB400 company at least for a while. The Excalibur is for sale but I don't rea...

Re: c2 crank

I don't think that you can change over a C2, at least I don't see how it's done. If it is possible please confirm and post how to because I had to get a new cheek rest built so that the right hand version ratchet release will work with the cheek rest on the correct side for a lefty. I know that the ...

Re: Bulldog 380

Sorry you had a problem and glad it wasn't worse. Sure hate to hear about these issues but good to hear that CS is on top of it. I have owned 2 Excaliburs and when problems arose on them, CS was excellent. Love those recurves just the same.... :)

Re: What's you deer combo for this year?

I am hoping to use my "new to me" BD400 with her brand new limbs, need more trigger time before I finalize. Thinking about using 2219 shafts cut to 17 or 18" with 110 grain inserts and some lower profile fletch if I can find someone to build me a few to test, otherwise it's Excalibur ...

Re: CR 2032 battery drain in X bow scopes.

I have a 6 year old Hawke scope and it still runs fine with the original CR2032. I don't ever use the light and took it out of my other scope so I wouldn't forget about it and have it leak and ruin the scope. Never found the lighted reticle useful for deer during legal shooting hours, maybe for blac...

Re: Excalibur micro 315 stringing aid

If you don't have a stringing aid it's simple to make one from 550 paracord. Just tie in 2 loops that are tight enough not to slip up the limb but have a small space you can pull the string through. Length of aid is not super critical, prior post is right, just long enough to put slack in the bowstr...

Re: Fun with the 'hot' BD400 yesterday. ...until my screws loosened up

same thing  happens if you dry fire against the adf. Been there with the Micro 355 I had. ..now I always install the screws with everything pushed as far forward as it will go to simulate where it would end up . Haven't tested that installation by dry firing -yet. Got a fresh tube of non p...

Fun with the 'hot' BD400 yesterday. ...until my screws loosened up

Got to play with my BD400 a lot yesterday and it feels a bit different with the new hot limbs. Stiffer, faster, and a little louder were my first impressions and had to turn the speed ring up 20 or 30 fps. It shot great at 50yds with my 2 crappy Easton Diablo arrows with their shredded Blazers, pret...

Well that's an awful problem  , hope your insurance covers it.
Hopefully nobody was hurt, looks like a serious hit (if it wasn't stolen).
My lower unit was stolen from a dealers yard when it was in for service a few years ago. They replaced it of course but it took a week.

Re: Age/ getting old /cocking a crossbow

I'm a young 64 y.o. whipper snapper with a few minor health issues, like leukemia, stroke, severe arrhythmias, severe arthritis in my shoulders, elbows, spine, knees, hips, stage 3 kidney failure, chronic vertigo and probably a couple other things that don't seem too important. I have to force mysel...
