Re: Almost shot my foot!
I am so glad you are OK. When I had my Equinox the 20" broadhead tipped arrow isn't inside the stirup, so this could have easily happened. I knew I wanted to stay with 18" arrows for my Matrix 355. If I make the mistake I will quickly notice when I my boot kicks the arrow aside with my foo...

Re: TactZone vs. Nikon Bolt XR
Congratulations Drew, I am glad you made the switch. Nothing spoils the hunt like poor optics. I immediately swapped the Tact-Zone scope for my Leupold VX-I 2-7x33mm scope. Last Friday I took a doe at less than 10 minutes of legal shooting. The Leupold's Turkey Plex reticle was easy to see and my ar...

Re: Lets talk about camouflage patterns.
I`m probably going to lose the camo endorsement I`ll never get . But my thoughts are the latest greatest camo is for the hunters not the hunted . How many of us have walked past an animal or bird that remained motionless . They weren`t wearing camo . I think the key is lack of motion when y...

Re: Arrow Wraps...
I ordered my white reflective arrow wraps from ebay. One dozen 7"x1.25" for $5.00 shipped. Now it's $6.00, but they add in an extra 2 or 3 wraps. I cut all of them down to 3.5"x1.125" which are perfect for my Easton 2219 aluminum shafts. This way my count has doubled, so I glue o...

Re: Sound damping versus speed: NOT A GOOD TRADE OFF
Being a rifleman, I feel Excalibur crossbows are whisper quiet. I am sure using 470 grain arrow/broadhead combo does quiet it down. I like not having to wear ear protection and zero recoil.

Michigan youth hunt success.
My 16 year old daughter harvested a 5 point buck on Saturday evening September 20, 2014 during Michigan's two day youth hunt. She used a Thompson Center Encore in 223 Remington with my hand loaded 60 grain Nosler Partitions. This is her fifth youth hunt and fourth deer, but her third buck. I am a pr...

Re: scope question
what is a good low level light scope for the x bow for those last few mins of shooting time. thanks Easiest question, Leupold take your pick. My Leupold excels during the last few minutes if low light shooting time. http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag32/yooper_man/20131003_200618_zps5feb1784.jpg...

Re: Question 380 or 405
Only comparing the two, I would choose the Matrix 380 Xtra over the Matrix 405 Mega. Either one bring a shovel to dig out your arrows after they pass through your game.

Re: Zeiss Duralyt 2-8 verses Hawke XB30 Pro
The main reason I use Leupold's is for their superior low light gathering characteristics. Illuminated reticles are not required during legal hunting hours if you have a quality optic. My non-illuminated Leupold scope is crystal clear during these first and last few minutes of hunting in my state h...

Re: Zeiss Duralyt 2-8 verses Hawke XB30 Pro
True enough. But a Leup with the Firedot is even better! If you haven't used one of these in the low light conditions you state, I think you'd be impressed. It's a dot that you can make real small and very dim so it doesn't glare like some scopes. Plus it is an auto off/auto on. Just put down the b...

Tammie,
Very nice upgrade. Leupold's belong on Excalibur's.
