I generally clean 15-20 deer each year for myself, my kids, my family, and friends, and I have always used a gambrel and hung them from the hind legs.
I have never tried to use the head hanging method, but it just looks more difficult.

Re: Boltcutter 150gr., let me down :(
Granted, I have only killed 4 deer with my crossbow and Boltcutter broadheads, but they performed perfectly for me.
I won't say this situation couldn't happen, but I have been around message boards for a while and have found that there is usually more to the story than what is posted.

Re: Is He a Shooter?
I'd pass him on my place, but not knowing what your choices are, I find it hard to give advise to you. If he is the best deer you are seeing, by all means shoot him, but if you have bigger bucks on camera, let him walk.

Re: Hold onto your hat!!!
I have been in NW Oklahoma for muzzleloader season this past weekend, and the wind was gusting to 40 mph out of the south. Needless to say, combined with a full moon, hunting was terrible, but I still managed to kill a doe with my ML and a buck with my truck.

Re: waiting over night
I have only killed 4 deer with a crossbow, but I have killed nearly 200 with a rifle and have never lost or left a deer in the woods overnight.
Two of my 4 crossbow kills never took a step, and the other two went less than 50 yards and fell within view of my stand.
I guess I am just lucky.

Re: Too hot to hunt deer!
It has been pleasant here in the mornings, but it warms up fast. It is supposed to be back in the low 80's by mid-week.

I wish I were near you and could bring Annie over to run the trail. Her nose hasn't failed me on deer or hogs.
