Re: Question For Our Experts on Lights

In my opinion, any good brand of hand-held marine light would do nicely. On my boat, I have a 1 million candle power hand-held light that plugs into a 12v outlet. These lights are very affordable and if I were purchasing a new one, I would do a Google search for West Marine and look in their on-line...

Sorry that I cannot help...

No experience with that or any other bow press. No need to.

I also shoot an Excalibur.

Re: Accurate?

vrodman, I had the same exact problem with Firebolts and I am shooting 100 gr. Spitfires. I contacted Danny Miller (740-483-2312) and he built me a set of arrows that every single one of them will impact within a 1.5” dia. circle at 40 yds. FYI: I shoot an Excalibur Vixen and I get. 270 fps with the...

Re: More On Plastic Nocks

Last year, I had a measurable number of partial dry fires on my Vixen when I was using the smaller diameter Excalibur FFF string and a brand of lighted nock that has a hard, smooth, slick, and flat face. My small diameter FFF string sat low on the face of the nock and the string would undershoot the...

Re: GOLD TIP QUESTION

My Vixen, with an Excalibur FFF string and shooting a Danny Miller 415.9 gr. TW GT II arrow with brass inserts and 100 gr. FT is consistently chronographing at 270 fps. With the heaver arrow and loosing only 15 fps off the advertised speed, I am very pleased. The stability of the higher FOC more tha...

Re: 70 years old and wants to use an xbow

My Vixen has the hole in the back of the stock to accommodate a Crank-A-Roo. When I purchased it, I asked Rob Dykeman to sell me one. Rob suggested that before I purchased a crank that I should first see how easy/hard it was for me to cock it with a rope cocker. By what Rob said and the hole in my s...

Re: 70 years old and wants to use an xbow

Long, I am not as old as some of the folk on this forum, but 68 is old enough to give you my personal opinion. I purchased my first crossbow when I was 60 and I purchased my second crossbow when I was 62 - both are now sold. The first because it was much too heavy for my old bones to carry and the s...

Re: Be careful out there

Dartonator, You have not asked a stupid question. In fact you have asked a very good question and one that more people should ask, How does one install a tree stand when there is nothing above to tie your safety harness on to? In my opinion, the answer is not how one, but how do three people hang a ...

Thank You - Mr. Bill and Danny.....

I am sure that this is how the weather is playing out in most of the other Southern tier of states. With today’s temperature in Central Mississippi in the high 90’s and forecast to remain so and rainless for the next 14 days; and with the opening of deer season only 2-1/2 weeks away; the heat and hi...

Re: plastic Nock Removal Help

I have never removed nocks from 2216’s. My drill recommendations may not work. I suggest that you measure the ID with calibers. If the ID size is different, order two drill bits: (1) one drill bit the exact ID and (2) a second drill bit .05 mm smaller. Instead of SAE or mm, you may have to go with w...

Re: Lighted Nocks

I have several older 2-generation ago Firenocks that are little harder deactivate (by design) and require a little higher drop and harder surface to deactivate than do the current generation. I set my crossbow on the ground and drop the flat nock of the arrow on the rail. After doing this for two ye...

Re: plastic Nock Removal Help

Removing plastic nocks from aluminum 2219’s, in preparation for using lighted nocks, is a two-step process: __________________________________________ (1) To remove plastic nocks from aluminum 2219’s. Tools: field tip, pliers and a propane torch (a) Install the field tip to seal the arrow shaft. Whe...

Orion, (1) To remove plastic nocks from aluminum 2219’s. Tools: field tip, pliers and a propane torch Install the field tip to seal the arrow shaft. When the air inside the shaft warms and the glue just begins to melt, the plastic nock may begin to slip out on its own accord. Stand the propane torch...

Re: Excalibur marketing dude

I must have one of the newer-model Excalibur scopes that Bill is refering to. In the last 1-1/2 years, I suppose that over 200+ new-to-crossbow folks have shot, handled and mishandled my Excalibur crossbow/Excalibur scope combination and I have never had a problem. They have dropped it off ATV’s and...
