Re: North Carolina has finally legalized crossbows
They can look at Arkansas (or Mississippi where they even allow poison on arrows....not many deer surviving even the poorest of shots there) & it'll be plain to see what all this "extra" hunting does to deer populations.....not much. Right at, or over a million deer here in Arkansas; R...

Re: targets
Well since I'm new to this rig I want to fire both FP's & BH's extensively for a while. I shot the bow today & my last twenty yard shot was so dead center of the bull it would have taken a micrometer to find the deviation. That Hurricane bag is a good one for FP's & @ $40 it didn't break...

Re: targets
Thanks Decoy Dan; it felt so much like the last field point bag I owned I figured it would do ok but wanted reassurance. Well folks, "The Block" is only available from one store here & it's $109 + tax on sale....too much for me to pay for one target. Wally didn't have the cheap blue pl...

Re: targets
I had to take the Buckmaster back to Walmart . . .the arrows penetrate too deep and are a real pain to take out. I suggest shooting at it first. Whatever is inside isn't good. Walmart willl take it back if you don't take it apart. Thanks for the reply & that's exactly what I suspected would be ...

I went today & bought a couple targets. The first one was a "Buckmaster BM-360" I got from Wal-Mart for a little over $42 with tax & I have to say it feels a little on the light side. It's supposed to be a broadhead & field point target in one. I think I'm going to take it apar...

Re: Xbowsplus (TNT sales)
I'm glad it worked out for you; I have no way of knowing if I spent more or not because we didn't get the same items & I won't give them my email addy to find out. I didn't start this thread to bash manventure but to give my experience with Xbowsplus (TNT sales) like I told them I would without ...

lol...yeah a big(ger) target is definitely better; no argument here.Dereck wrote:I have 5 points of aim on my target so I can shoot 3 to five arrows at once.
That way I don't wreck any.

Re: shooting targets with broadheads
I always just used the same BH over & over to practice with. It was dull as a butter knife but it flew the same as the sharp ones did. Personally I got tired of hitting my other arrows (bolts) with my subsequent shots which happened a LOT more frequently than you'd think so I picked out one arro...

Re: Vortex
Congratulations - I have to get something to shoot at before I can do anything but sit here & look at mine & it's killing me. I got up this morning & the first thing I did was go pick it up & look through the scope (which was tilted to left a hair....gotta adjust that)

Re: Xbowsplus (TNT sales)
I don't know about manventure as I never checked there but outdoor experience was going to be higher for what I got. Outdoor experience's price was going to be $889.98 vs. Xbowsplus @ $804.98 In the math classes I took all those years ago $804 was the smaller of those two numbers  Back to manve...

Re: Heat and white oak acorns
It took two consecutive years for acorns to be affected by our hard drought that stretched from 1998 until about 2003, they never got smaller so much as the trees just stopped producing them. The good part was the trees that made it seemed to come back healthy after a couple years of cooler temps &a...

Xbowsplus (TNT sales)
My Vortex was purchased from them, sort of online & by phone. Incredibly good price @ $804 for the bow & right stuff varizone scope package to my door (lowest I could find anywhere including eBay) & the free shipping was acceptably speedy. They tell you it'll take six to ten business day...

Re: Vortex
Big brown truck just dropped my Vortex off today, opened but not assembled yet because I was watching a cool little video about Heimo Korth (that's a man's name believe it or not). So far the finish looks precise, excellent even. The factory packaging had the scope in the box on it's side with no ta...

Re: Introduction
Welcome to the forum! You obviously have a lot of CB hunting experience so post often. Oh, are you now shooting an Excalibur? If so why did you choose Excalibur over other CBs and which model did you choose and why? Take care... Vortex is what I chose & I am currently waiting on the big brown t...
