There is a nice video on YouTube of a fellow gathering pine tree sap crushing it in a piece of cotton and using that instead of chalk. It was passed down from his family.

Got out for a little trolling for the first time Saturday. The Province finally opened the season May 1st. A very peaceful spot. Threw this one back it obviously spawned out last fall, very skinny. Suppliers make quite a few that are considered water proof. they do not require chalk because they have a coating on them. Primos Waterboard, Quaker Boy Hurricane etc
