Re: Vanes for 355 past 40 yd
FWIW, I shoot the same arrow out of my original Axiom and had the same problems with slick tricks. That and they shot about 3" to the right of where the same weight field points shoot. I switched to 125 grain Strikers and all my problems vanished. Accurate as far as I want to shoot (killed a Do...

Re: 355 or 380
I've been kicking around the idea of getting one of the new bows simply because they are more compact. 95% of my hunting is from treestands. I love my Axiom (from the first year they were offered). It has killed everything it has shot at except one that I couldn't find and that was my fault. My long...

Re: 2002 Vixen String Testin
My bad VM. I didn't realize until a few minutes ago when I found another post of yours in the Off Topic forum that you made strings. I've been too busy at everything else lately and haven't visited the forums in months. Just dropped by to check out the 355 Matrix when I came across your posts. Can y...

Re: 2002 Vixen String Testin
Interesting outcome. Although I suspected there would be minimal difference between FF strings. Glad to know I can stop by BassPro and buy a Excal FF string and know its as fast as any other string out there.

Re: Lighted nocks
Until this year, I used Firenocks. I actually preferred them over Lumenoks after shooting both a few hundred times. I preferred the replaceable battery of the Firenocks. I also had trouble with the Lumenoks coming on while in my quiver. I had a few die when they came on while my bow and quiver were ...

Re: Another Weekend Project 'Bolt Rack'
That's sweet. My wife has been after me to do something with mine. I even went as far as making a material list by looking at several that was on the Internet, but as of yet, that project is still on the back burner...

Re: Economical Broadheads
The most inexpensive broadheads that I've found are at Walmart. All the Carbon Express broadheads that I've shot out of my Axiom have been just as accurate as anything I've shot with the exception of one of the 100 grn Quad Pro's that was out of kilter. Most of their broadheads run in the $12 to $15...

Re: Best Sling for an Excalibur Axiom?
The Excal sling is made from nylon I think. I had one once and it just seemed "cheap". It was noisy and I just didn't care for it. Then I bought the CLAW. It's a good sling but I have to watch the screws that hold it to the studs as they tend to back off easily. More than once I've been wa...

Re: Kansas Legalizes Crossbows
It passed today. KS will allow crossbows during archery season beginning in 2013 - per the bill. Perhaps the KDWP will move it up and allow it for 2012. Anyway, I've been a compound shooter and would love to try crossbows. I've been considering buying an exomax brown bear. This may just be enough f...
