Re: Vancouver Island deer

Dont bother with the North Island. The deer population is at an all time low. My sons town is awash in predators at the moment. Lots of decent bear hunting though.

Re: CR 2032 battery drain in X bow scopes.

Nope. Two years on one battery and still going strong. Try a different retailer for a battery. If it still drains fast, send it back for warranty.

Re: Refletching

A procedure I have adopted over the years is to hold the vane between my thumb & index finger and apply the glue, then put the vane in the jig. It seems to keep the jig cleaner for me when doing several arrows at a time. I also apply very little adhesive, and smooth it out with a Q-Tip stem, no...

Re: Excalibur Hunting show

I quit watching tv when all the documentaries turned into really stupid reality shows. Hunting shows turned into product showcases with very little actual hunting. Like mentioned above, utube is much better for hunting and fishing.

Re: Gut check arrow wraps. Anyone try yet???

Ya, I'm not falling for this. I was told at a young age, bright blood, heart. Bright blood and bubbly, lungs and possibly heart. Dark blood, livershot. Green means gut shot. It has stood me well enough for almost fifty years.

Re: Excalibur micro 315 stringing aid

My stringer when on the the limbs reaches my arrow hold down. Very little effort is needed to cock it that way. All you really need is just enough to loosen the string for changing. Any shorter is a waste of energy. Hope that helps,

Splintered a limb on my Equinox and the replacement limbs were definitely faster. Shooting around 345 with 410 grain arrows. :eusa-dance: Higher the number the faster the limbs?

Ya, it's a pretty crappy thing to do to us. Maybe I should check the fine print on the draw I just entered.

Acetone??? Takes off the labeling??? Hah might try that
A dish scrubber with acetone makes quick short work of painted graphics.

And acetone to take the arrow labels off so they don't "weld" into the target
This! Removing the arrow graphics made removal at least fifty percent easier for me. Followed by a little arrow lube at the front of the arrow ended the daily tug o war.

Re: Nuisance Deer I’ll Be doing my part this Fall

Blunts work great for nuisance animals. The wide cup Saunders is my go to for pesky bears that are interfering in my hunt or acting aggressively. I popped a belligerent beef bull in the forehead a few years back when when he started showing evil intentions upon me. I swear he went cross eyed when th...

Re: Elk antler question

I am not sure Hank, but we knowed the blood feeds up as they grow. I would assume some drys inside the antler It's not blood Mike. It goes about 1/8" into the antler. With the porous nature of antlers, the blood would have oxidized into a gross brown color. I have never seen this before and I'...

Elk antler question

Hey all, I was given an old elk rack that was nailed to a barn for twenty some years. White and crusty they were. Anyhoo, the barn was coming down and they were gifted to me to use for antler carving. My question is, is it normal for the interior of elk antlers to be pink? I mean a salmon rose pink ...
