OK, this is just totally off the cuff, first thought I had while reading your last post (so don't laugh): How about adding one or two of those peel & stick strips that you put on the edges of steps (only about 1" wide and fairly long)? Or the same kind of thing for bathtubs? They come in cl...

Way to go! Always great to hear about those "unlikely" hunts making good! Also great to read that you managed to just sit on the ground and take it. Enjoy your venison!

AMEN! I've had to replace my fibre optic piece several times this season and I thought I was being pretty careful with it!

I have a pair of camo neoprene gloves that fit snug and grip incredibly well not matter what the weather (snow, ice, rain) and they are quiet. I highly recommend them. Found mine at Shooter Choice in Waterloo. I've tried a few other grippy gloves but have found they "squeak" on the stock w...

No luck here either this year! If I had a parcel of meat for every dark morning I dragged myself out of bed to go sit out with my Vixen I'd have a full freezer! LOL I passed up a chance or two earlier in the season - next year I won't be as cocky! Around here there is a short season (a week?)...

I'd agree with the above posts about the claw marks. To my knowledge cats don't have claw prints in their tracks. These are probably canine tracks.

I have an Ameristep Outhouse that has seem some pretty steady use and it still seems fine - no problems! It's nothing fancy but it seems made well enough for the $.

I would prefer something a bit larger than the Outhouse and still dream of a nice Double Bull with shoot-thru mesh.

I guess my husband figures that it's safer to have me out in the woods with a bow than in the spam cooking! LOL  In all seriousness, it's great to be able to share hunting with my husband, we read hunting magazines and talk about articles, we discuss different tactics, we share gear and we're b...

I don't have a decoy, have been thinking about getting one though. A fair distance to carry one, 2km+ from my van...<snip> I like the Renzo decoys - they're basically corrogated plastic with enhanced photo images on them. They fold up pretty small, are very light and easy to carry. Nice alternative...

........ but if she is totally covered up and you can't find her, then what good is sexy :? :? :? :? . LOL Well, doesn't that make "hunting" more fun then? Guess I'm lucky that my husband is usually happy to see me in camo (even when my mother comments that it's not very ladylike!) ...

Decoys can often work well. Do a bit of research on positioning them up properly before you use them.

Rattling/calling at ground level (instead of up in the tree) will help. Is there any way you can hang your antlers or a rattle bag near the ground and rattle them from your tree stand?

Oh <whew>! It's nice to know I'm not the only one the deer seem to be avoiding! It's been so very frustrating as I'm sure I'm doing everything right and still no deer. Having said that, I saw three last week - on property I don't have permission to hunt! Sigh. Took a day last week to thoroughly scou...
