Emily's 10 Point
Wasn't the best weather tonight but the results ended up pretty good. We were setup in an old apple orchard in a pasture field. Took this pic shortly after getting into the blind. She ended up shooting the buck in the opening on the right. http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp255/cspot12/IMG_0225_zp...

Re: Question 380 or 405
It all depends on how far into the ground you want your arrow to be when it passes thru the deer. LOL. I have a 380 and don't see the need to go to the 405 as the 380 does all I need. Heck the 330 I have does all I need. If you are going to do a lot of target shooting I think the 380 would be better...

Re: Ground Blind Usage?
That's about all I hunt out of now. I hunt with my kids and we have great luck out of them. Just put them out in advance and the deer will get use to them. We use them a lot as well. We have about half blinds and half stands. We put them out a month or so before season. They work well especially in...

Re: Wyvern creations
I agree. Boo's strings usually have a little bit of a wait so if you need one for season I would get the JBK for right now. They are a pretty good string.SEW wrote:It's good, but Boo's string is noticeably better.

Re: Swhacker & Matrix 355 on up
We shot 8 deer and 2 turkeys out of them last year with the 380. Only used single bands and had no issues with opening. I always check the bands though before loading an arrow to make sure it is in good condition.
Forgot to add that we use the 1.75" 100 grain model.

Re: Disappointed With Warranty Turn-Around
Unless you misspoke this is what you had in your first post. UPS "miss-sorted" the package and it did not arrive at the repair shop until the morning of 8/25. To me you can't count that has a day as they sent you an email that day. Tuesday starts as the first day. Give them a call tomorrow...

Re: Disappointed With Warranty Turn-Around
To me it hasn't even been 5 days. I would say if they received it the 25th then you start counting from the 25th. 26th- 1 day, 27th- 2 day, 28th- 3 day, 29th- 4 day, 30th- non-business day, 31st- non business day, 1st- holiday non business day, 2nd- 5th business day. Also giving the fact that this i...

Re: Meat Grinder Recommendations
I have the commercial grinder from Cabelas. Forget the HP but it is a #12 size grinder. It has worked great for the last few years. Definitely well made.

Re: Ambidextrous cheek piece?
Best I could come up with, don't put one on. At least it will then be truly ambidextrous. What also might work is to bend a piece of thin sheet metal, wrap it inside, and out. It would look like a saddle when finished. We setup both bows for right hand so that way the left hand shooters are used to...

Re: Ambidextrous cheek piece?
Should have been clearer in my post. I do realize that it can be switched, but I am looking for one that both a right and left hand shooter would be able to use without taking screws out and switching sides.

Ambidextrous cheek piece?
Just wondering if anyone has ever made one or if Excalibur has ever thought of offering one for the bows. The situation I have is 5 people using 2 crossbows in which 2 of them shoot left-handed. Situation arises that both of them could be shooters at the same time. Any thoughts?

Easter Egg Hunt
This evening we did our Easter Egg hunt. It is a great way to make kids concentrate on picking a spot. I think they enjoy shooting them more than coloring them. http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp255/cspot12/IMG_0028_zpse061e95d.jpg http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp255/cspot12/IMG_0032_zps27a8...

Martina's First Gobbler
The quick synopsis of the morning hunt is we heard a bunch of gobbling on the roost but not much after that. We had two longbeards come in front of us around 7 o'clock or so, but they never got closer than about 60 yards or so. The next couple hours was pretty uneventful. Around 8:30 or so we put up...

Colton Got His First Spring Turkey
Colton has been chasing spring turkeys for a few years, but had yet to put a tag on one. Today he finally broke the dry spell. We heard about 8 to 10 gobblers on the roost and they were gobbling quite a bit including 4 or 5 that were within 150 yards of us. After they flew down though things went re...

Re: Matrix 355 - What's your arrow setup?
A couple of things to check besides your arrows. Make sure all the bolts and screws are tight on the bow and scope. I have seen this cause issues with arrows not grouping. Also if you are using a lead sled make sure to hold onto the front grip of the crossbow because if you don't this can cause erra...
